Why don't the BBC air repeats

I know that one of the biggest complaints in television is constant re-runs of old shows, however, there must be a happy medium.

I have Sky+, I recorded last weeks Wallander, I've come home tonight to find that this weeks didn't record (as always seems to be the case with Sky and anything I might find vaguely interesting). All of the other channels repeat their big shows a few days later in case you may have missed them, but, the BBC seem totally adverse to doing this. It means that Wallander is now pointless for me, I've missed the middle episode, no point watching the first one that I have recorded, and, next weeks episode is pointless as well.

BBC have iPlayer, but, I don't fancy watching a streamed version on my computer huddled around a monitor, I want the HD version as was shown in full glory watched from the comfort of my arm chair.

Is it a rights issue, or, are they just trying to annoy us all?

Re: Why don't the BBC air repeats

I believe it's repeated on Monday 08 December on BBC4 (10:00pm - 11:40pm)

There's also a documentary about Henning Mankell, the author of the Wallander books.

It's called "Who is Kurt Wallander?" and it's on Friday 12 December (10:30pm - 11:30pm)

Get yourself a PS3 and watch in the comfort of your lounge. Or wait for the dvd to come out.

Re: Why don't the BBC air repeats

God bless the BBC, I'll get back in my box. Turns out it's repeated loads, in HD as well. I must bookmark that TV guide, much better than the one I'd been using (which showed no repeats).

Thanks again

Andrew

BTW, that Monday 8 December showing was a Swedish television version of Wallandar, it's not the superior BBC television series.
