Keanu Reeves

I just admire, respect and love this man so much. His films never cease to amaze, and the Matrix is one of the greatest movies ever committed to celluloid.

Does anyone else share my love for this beautiful man?

Quoted so yee can't edit it.

I knew you'd come around Homer. Should we tell them about the curiously crusty poster you have in your bathroom?

Cool

I saw a program last night and they was saying more or less he would not sign any autographs not unless he was doing a promo.
I wouldn’t say he is the greatest actor but I must say I enjoy quite a few of his films.

He can be very wooden. Not a great actor, not enough depth.

If the role calls for a confused, vacant, poorly-spoken character with little or no expression of emotion, then he's your man!

He was truly shocking in Dracula.

I had always thought of Keanu Reeves as a very one-dimensional actor until I saw him in 'The Gift', playing a role which went completely against anything he's done before, or since I believe. He wasn't the main character in this film, but his performance was outstanding (although overshadowed by the awesome Cate Blanchett).

He can act, and he can do it very well ... but he doesn't do it anywhere near enough, unfortunately.

Keanu Reeves can't act - Bill & Ted, Point Break and the Matrix he plays himself basically some dopey dude sort of deal, whenever he tries to go further (including Reloaded at some points) he just can't do it...
He could not act himself out of a bucket....

He's pretty good in 'My own private Idaho', where he acts within his range (West-coast slacker), but totally exposed whenever he has to use a different accent (Bram Stoker's Dracula). And although he looks right in the Matrixes (Matrices), he's toneless and uncharismatic.

Totally agree about KR being wooden, but who needs any decent acting in the Matrix series? It's all about guns, bombs, kung fu & LFE!! Oh, and Trinity in leather.

I think Keanu has made the most out of his (IMO) limited acting abilities. He's been in some pretty good films - well I like them:

Speed, Devil's Advocate, Bram Stoker's Dracula (outstanding accent almost out-doing Dick Van Dyke ) , The Matrix, The Replacements (okay - I like American Football).

I also agree with Elsie Grammar. I found his performance in The Gift to be suprisingly good.

Howver, I am not looking forward to his rendition of John Constantine in the movie version of the outstanding Hellblazer comic. I wasn't convinced when Nic Cage was linked with the role - but Keanu?? Anyone out there who has read the comics (I had them all upto issue 50 or so - when I stopped reading comics and discovered women ) must surely share my fears!

Keanu is a dreadful actor, let's face facts. But he does add that movie star sheen to most of the films he stars in and that's what he does best.
His lack of acting ability doesn't stop the films he's in from being a lot of fun either. Bill and Ted's, Point Break and The Matrix are prime examples.
