Question Whats your favorite horror movie????

My all time horror movies are as follows:-

1. The Ring - It had everything a horror movie should have in it.
2. The Amityville - Must go down as an all time classic.
3. The Others - Though not gory, but boy is it beliveable which makes it IMO quite scarey. (Some people might not class this a Horror, but it is nearest to it.)
4. The Omen 1,2 and 3 - Again classics, I think the choir type music (Is the only way I can describe it) really made these films unique!!

What would you class as your favorites?????

1. Ringu (Far scarier than American version, due to it's near complete lack of explanation.)
2. The Shining (still creeps me out!)
3. Friday 13th (most of them, they are not scary just really really funny)
4. Halloween
5. The Fog
6. The Thing (has such a classic horror scene)

Salem's Lot scared the pants of me, but i was a kid.

Changelings, with george c scott was good film.

Superstition (AKA The Witch) would still scare me

The others was a very good film, a classic ghost story- a bit like the haunted.

Oh there's loads

I’m not a massive horror film fan, so I generally prefer the ones with a bit more humour like Evil Dead 2 and American Werewolf in London. The serious ones would have to be:-

The Omen Trilogy
The Thing
Event Horizon (I realise I may be in a minority)
The Medusa Touch – Richard Burton as a guy with psychic powers
The Fly (with Jeff Goldblum)

You’re right there are loads. What about all those Hammer horror films? Quatermass and the Pit, Dracula, The Devil Rides Out…

I love a good scary movie, but they are usually few and far between. More often, my horror DVDs consist of goofball horrors, which aren't scary in the least.

Scary Favs:
-The Changeling

Favs:
-RawHeadRex
-Friday 13th (most of em)
-Puppet Master
-Killer Klowns from Outer Space
-Evil Dead II
-Halloween (most of em)

Ditto on some of the ones already mentioned, Shining, Amityville, Thing, the Fog, etc.

Agree with a lot of what's been posted (Shining, Salems Lot, Ring, The Fog etc etc). How about:

The Masque of the Red Death - Vincent Price is as camp as you like but the dance of the red death part is still really creepy!

The Night of the Demon - Who needs effects to make a scary film?

Prince of Darkness - Under-rated Carpenter if you ask me.

Dont look now - kids in red coats freak me out!

That’s Jerry Goldsmith for you. I managed to get hold of some old LP’s of Damien Omen 2 and the Final Conflict although they are a bit crackly but they are good I think the original Omen film soundtrack won an Oscar..

How come no-one has mentioned "The Exorcist".

Is it because it's not rated very highly, or has it just been forgotten. I'm no great fan of horror movies, but this one surely deserves a mention.

Can't speak for anyone else, but I didn't mention it cos I don't like it.

However, I hold many real turds of movies in high regard, so it's definitely nothing to do with whether the film's any good or not.

I'm also quite partial to The Burning.

Yeh and you can now get all the Nephs video's and live gigs on a dvd that includes Revelations, Forever Remain and Visionary heads all on one disc. Revelations includes all their classic tracks- Preacher Man, Blue Water, Moonchild just to name a few. A must buy for closet Goths like myself. (God I'm showing my age now... )

Considering it's easily in my top 10 films of all time, I'm wondering how exactly I forgot to mention that one

Closet Goths? You and me both. Quick, pass the bag of flour, I'm in need of a dusting
One of the best live bands I've ever seen. I've had that disc about 8 months now, still keep spinning it once a fortnight. Great stuff.
