Gavin and Stacey

Does anyone if they'll be releasing a boxset of Series 1 and Series 2 along with the Christmas special included?

There's a Christmas special to finish the show. No more after that I'm afraid.

All the best

Never say never.

I'm sure there'll be a boxset out sometime next year.

Re: Gavin and Stacey

I watched and enjoyed both series and the Christmas Special but can't help to be slightly disappointed by the use of Shipman and West as the family names of Gavin and Stacey. I think its totally unnecessary and quite upsetting. There is also a character called Peter Sutcliffe, why is this considered funny by the two writers? Having searched a bit online, found these comments by the co-writer Ruth Jones (who plays Nessa) and got quite angry

In fact, Ruth Jones talked about it in a recent interview. “I suppose we were hoping that people wouldn't realise and then when it does come to light, it's even more delicious,” she said. “I'm sorry, that's a terrible word to use in conjunction with two murderers. The idea of Christmas with the Shipmans and the Wests – I just love saying that.”

Why would they do this in such a well written comedy?

Anybody got any idea what the situation is between Uncle Bryn and his gay nephew? Something fishy has gone on between the two!

They now say there will be another series. We might find just exactly what happened. I think most of us have an idea but they may go in another direction if they confide in us. Bryn's a great character.

Cheers

apparently it defies gravity.

Truth be told its part of the show to leave things to the imagination.

Re: Gavin and Stacey

Sorry to bring back a oldish thread and then to go mildly of topic but I don't think this really needs a new thread.

My sister missed the xmas special and repeat and the DVD aint out until next xmas so I have looked around and found it is on iTunes for her. She wants to D/L it but has a cap to adhere to (bloody BT) so I just wanna know if anyone has previously downloaded the Gavin and Stacey Christmas Special from iTunes and can tell me the file size before I gift it to her.

I hope it wont be much more than 400mb as it isn't a HD programme.

Cheers to anyone who can help.

As it is an hour long I would expect it to be around 450Mb

Cheers but has anyone got any more concrete info (it is ludicrous IMO that they don't mention the file size somewhere in iTunes given most net users in the UK have some kind of D/L restriction).

Or infact any other way of getting my hands on a copy of the show (not torrents, they are useless and awful quality).

EDIT: Decided to go the iTunes route and I can confirm for future reference that the Gavin and Stacey xmas special runs a ludicrous 696.2MB for its £2.99 cost.

That means nothing to me. Oh Vienna.

I just buy the DVDs when they come out.
