Who says you need CGI and special effects to make a great film. All you need is a good story and a couple of great actors.
What a fantastic film it still is,just brilliant.

I don’t want to burst you bubble but the main two characters were CGI.

Amazing film. Can't help but watch it when it shown on TV. The world around me just disappears for the duration of the film.

One of my all time favourite films and it is finally going to get the DVD treatment that it fully deserves next year with a special edition release as it is 10 years old

I love this film too. Is it worth waiting for the special edition rather than buying it cheap now ? Is the current version bad ?

P.S. Don't want to appear dumb, but what is CGI ?

Cool

You never find out if you don’t ask.

CGI, Computed Generated Images, or very similar meaning it is where they insert it into the film for effects. I think the film Shrek was pure CGI(not cartoons). But some films use little bit mixed with real action or footage. If you seen Daredevil or Spider-man you can spot some scenes where they use it. DD the bit where he more or less jumps up a wall in the ally or SM the scene where the Green Goblin is flying in on the sled over the skyscrapers also a lot of SM swinging about on his web.
