The cast of hit comedy series Blackadder will return to the small screen in a one-off documentary over Christmas as part of the BBC's seasonal schedule. Skip related content
Related photos / videos Hugh Laurie holds his award for best male actor Enlarge photo The broadcaster said "Blackadder Rides Again" would feature the first in-depth interview with actor Rowan Atkinson, who played Edmund Blackadder and his descendants in the show's four series between 1983 and 1989.

Other stars from the historical comedy taking part in the behind-the-scenes feature include Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, Miranda Richardson and Tony Robinson, who played Blackadder's long-suffering sidekick Baldrick.

"We are extremely excited to have persuaded the entire creative team behind this iconic sitcom to appear in the same show for the very first time since they all worked together," said the documentary's executive producer Ricky Kelehar.

This sounds like it's going to be a terrestrial repeat of the fun 90-minute documentary UK Bilge (sorry G.O.L.D.) showed about a month ago for Blackadder's 25th Anniversary, rather than a new doc.

A good documentary, but a shame the BBC didn't show it first, rather than UK Bilge.

I watched that show and thought it was very entertaining, and gave a great insight behind the scenes.

As I never saw the UK GOLD one it will all be good news as far as I,m concerned

The UK Gold one as good, but I don't remember Atkinson being in it at all, so this could be a new one

According to the mirror on Monday it is a brand new one as Rowan Atkinson did not participate in the UK gold doc so should be a must see for all Blackadder fans

Shame it's not a new episode - I think there's still plenty of milage in the BlackAdder character(s). The documentary is quite good, though - although much of it is people saying how great it was to work with such a large number of creative talent.
