I liked Season 2 especially the gay theatre show (The best episode of the entire collection) but I hate the character of their new boss (Matt Berry). Season 3 started off well, maybe their boss will shoot himself in the next episode!!!

The boss is definitely an odd character and I much preferred Chris Morris's original, barking mad, but you knew where you were, unlike Mr Smarm. A good start to S3 and glad to see it back

Of course not IT people in general (as well as the fact its a Graham Linehan sitcom so will have lots of imaginative silliness and fantasy like Father Ted and Black Books)
... but Roy and Moss to me do come across as extrapolated versions of one or two tech support guys I've known over the years

seems to be two separate threads in each ep ... Moss & Roy's shenanigans, and Jenn's paranoia about boyfriend/painter/etc induced by a comment from Roy early on
- and these threads are interchangeable

thought Jenn's boyfriend thread this week was very weak, so preferred last week, especially Chris Morris' welcome return of sorts and that paradoxical letter of his with the gun ("but as you know, in the end I jumped off the building" )

The boyfriend reveal was hilarious after the lads comments, but unfortunately that story line faded when the boyfriend tried to live up to his image. But the whole "How to talk like a bloke" website and following shenanigans was ace

I absolutely agree with you. I was looking forward to this series,but switched it off after five minutes because of the very obvious canned laughter. Why do we need it? Once it used to be limited to American shows. It is not necessary. Take the new series of Outnumbered on BBC1. Very funny, no audience or canned laughter needed.

Going back in time I remember when M.A.S.H was first screened in the UK it had no 'laughter track'. Watch the American versions (still being shown) and they have canned laughter. Totally out of place and ruined the meaning of the show. I guess the Americans need to be given a cue when to laugh !
