BBC3's The Wrong Door ( Comedy )

First of all hello to everyone in here. This is my first post in this section of the forum.

Just wondering if anyone saw this programme last night 10.30pm, on BBC3. They have been advertising this quite heavily on the BBC channels.

It really was one of worst comedy sketch shows I've ever seen. It uses CGI in most of the sketches. very poor CGI at that but would have cost a fortune an episode. I could talk about the sketches, but I think that would classed as spoilers, just in case anyone has recorded it.

Maybe it's just me, but I thought it just didn't work and the BBC could have spent their money elsewhere.

Has any body on here seen this and what was your opinion of it?

Im only caught the trailer, wasn't impressed and the joke (that it was) was too lame even for the playground

The ad looked weird, sci-fi comedy fail.

I thought it was strangely amusing in places, original in places and poor in places.

Quite a mixed bag, but I kept it on the planner, might be a grower, it's just flat out different and sometimes different can take a while to adjust to and "get".

I'm gonna hang in there another week.

Just a small but important correction here. It's OUR money they're wasting (the license payers amongst us)

Thought it was terrible myself. The only bit that raised a smile was the opening giant robot skit, which wasn't funny the second time it showed up.

& god knows how much it cost them (well, us) to use the original music from Basic Instinct, Beetlejuice & Judge Dredd.

God, your right. I put money towards this rubbish. I want money back

Myself I thought the giant robot was terrible. The fact that it kept going back to it through the show and then the final one showing the keys sitting on building, with robot in the distance, as if we didn't get the joke in the first place.

I know this is meant to different and "new comedy". I'm all up for "new comedy" but it has to be funny in the first place. Which this isn't in my opinion.

I think it costs them nothing, my understanding is unless the music is used as a theme tune, they have free access to pretty much anything they like.

For example my partner works for the beeb, they always get emails asking whether anybody has a certain track that can be included for an ident etc..
