I still think the geezer singing about Atlantis was the best though..

Looking forward to this tonight. Looks like they might have gone a little darker...

Nah its just the same as the previous seasons. No change in mood or darker feel to it.

The US is 5 episodes ahead of the UK. So far so good.

Liked the first episode.. although it does seem like they've got a bigger Special effects budget and they want to show off.. the 'views from space' were pretty good

MGM must be really looking at the DVD market as a money spinner more so than relying on the whim of broadcasters to fund TV productions. The show has had a great run and I'll take a DVD release every now and again and lets hope the show runners come up with something interesting to replace it be it in the franchise or something new.

I wonder whether the long run and, in the end, huge scope of SG1, meant that Atlantis would never see that sort of longevity?

Still, I had it marked down for at least 7 seasons. Farewell John Sheppard and Rodney Mckay. Some of the best characters in Sci Fi.

Most shows don't these days though, and you are right with SG1 going to S10, there were times when Atlantis seemed a bit tired as it had all been done before. 5 series and a few spin-off dvds is a good run though.

Yeah but what else is there now.. The link suggests that "A Town Called Eureka" is now ahead in the ratings... With Star Trek and now Stargate finishing (not forgetting Farscape

) what is there for those who like such programs?? Eureka certainly doesn't fill the gap IMHO and although well recieved and very popular BSG never really did it for me either...

A bad day just got worse..

I welcome some more SG movies, but as much as I like the TV series I think they'll need to work on the films for them to satisfy me...

I really think there's a real Sci-fi drought at the mo both on TV and at the movies.. even Series 2 of Heroes is going downhill ..

I couldnt agree more. We need more sci-fi.

Sad news about Atlantis being cancelled. Shocked to be honest, I thought there was plenty more material to come out of the show.

I am shocked about the cancellation. I admit I didn't like Atlantis at first as I always compared it with SG1. After the third season and the crossovers with SG1 cast, it was a lot better. It is now the only program that is on at the moment I watch.

I haven't heard of that Eureka and from what I read, I have no interest in it at all.

I am fed up of my favourite Sci Fi shows being cancelled (Dead Zone, Enterprise, BSG and 4400). DO US networks hate Sci FI for some reason?
