Confused.com adverts

Has anyone noticed that they are on very frequently on all channels and are so cheesy and crap as to be unbelievable.

Seems they spend about 50p on dodgy actors and 5hite backgrounds, no thought at all.

Personally I find their site upper crap and has never given me any savings on any insurance ever.

I'm Probably someone somewhere has done research and discovered that if you're launching a new brand it either has to be stellar or irritating. Kill it. Bang! is another example.

Never found any of the comparison sites useful in getting the best quote .... that is, until recently using TescoCompare for car insurance

Confused has always seemed the worst for me

Hi, Barry Scott here
Yep, either superb or very irritating, both have more or less the same effect - gets people talking about it, and makes the advertising campaign a successful one.

Re: Confused.com adverts

Confused actually saved me about £600 on my first years insurance. I always use them for quotes, i think they are more aimed at the younger market.

The one that starts "Look what I have on my laptop" is comedy gold, it's stupidly hilarious. The rest of it's crap though yes.

Re: Confused.com adverts

Thinking about it logically....from all the insurance price comparison sites, as long as you put in exactly the same details, then the prices from the same insurance companies should be exactly the same on all of the sites.
The only time they could vary, is when the insurance company has made a particular arrangement, probably on a commission basis, with the individual comparison site.

I guess that if it was such a great service, they wouldn't need blanket advertising.

Remember 118 a couple of years back, they were regarded as the worst directory enquiries number yet they still used stealth advertising.

Either way, I don't ever use anything that's advertised in this way.....

Re: Confused.com adverts

There is no such thing as bad publicity, and sometime a crap advert can help.

Look at this thread - you started it and put confused.com into the minds of many people on here. Perhaps they will now check out the site for their next quote?

Talking Re: Confused.com adverts

Hi, I'm Barry Scott, and I use CONFUSED.COM because I'm thick as pig- !

I also get my Mum to do all the shopping at Iceland; dial 118-118 for all my telephone number enquiries (hey, why use a phone book for free, when I can pay 50p a minute, and get talked down at by a total numptie, who wouldn't know there arse from their elbow instead?!).

I also put new Vanish Oxy-Action in my washing machine, which is also done at 40 degrees (Got to save that environment, folks!), and has Calgon for the hard-water area I live in.

I gave Mum the number for Prudential, so she could go see me brother in Oz, and I could let her mongrel, Snowflake, get its 5-a-day habit with new Pedigree Chum Dentabits too.

Still, life isn't all work, work, work!

I found that utter rubbish. I just get lots of "We are unable to provide you with a quote".

I have never had a crash, and I have no points on my license.

Re: Confused.com adverts

Are you walking the tight-rope of rubbish adverts, call now for an Ocean-Finance loan and make your next advert w3hiter than w3hite.

Advertising industry, stop burying your heads in the sand and get an EXPERIenced-ACTOR quote.

New Sell-it Bad helps you make the most irritating advert ever. Bang and the viewers gone.

New oxy-moron, make your advert brilliantly awful.

Not particularly. In fact I think he's quite attractive, just a shame he has to be on one of the most annoying adverts in history. Don't be getting jealous now!
