"Master & Commander"

Just watched "28 Days" - best thing I saw on it was the trailer for "Master & Commander" from the Patrick O'Brian books.

I've checked out briefly a couple of sites, one saying it's based on the "Far Side of the World - the 10th in the Master & Commander series" (?!!!), & suppose it'll be impossible for any film to do the Aubrey/Maturin books justice.

The trailer makes the film look very much an action movie, which is worrying.

Russell Crowe as Aubrey seems good casting. Paul Bettany was in "A Beautiful Mind" - never seen it, anyone know if he'll make a good Maturin?

Film's out November.

He made a decent psycho gangster in Gangster No 1.
Didn't he also play Chaucer in A Knights Tale?
