Joss Whedon's Dollhouse

Amy Acker (Angel) has been signed to join Eliza Dushku (Buffy, Tru Calling) who plays Echo as the lead in this fantasy series. All we need now is Spike and Buffy to join up

Quote:
Echo is one of a group of men and women who can be imprinted with personality packages, including memories, skills, language—even muscle memory—for different assignments. The assignments can be romantic, adventurous, outlandish, uplifting, sexual and/or very illegal. When not imprinted with a personality package, Echo and the others are basically mind-wiped, living like children in a futuristic dorm/lab dubbed the Dollhouse, with no memory of their assignments—or of much else. The show revolves around the childlike Echo's burgeoning self-awareness, and her desire to know who she was before, a desire that begins to seep into her various imprinted personalities and puts her in danger both in the field and in the closely monitored confines of the Dollhouse.”

Let's not forget the god-like Illyria.

Eliza Dushku and Amy Acker in the same show has got to be worth checking out but in a Joss Whedon creation as well makes it essential viewing. I can't wait to see this!

Re: Joss Whedon's Dollhouse

This looks like it could be a good series, the crew includes a few of his regular writers which is nice. I'm watching Firefly on DVD at the moment, amazing show.

What are the chances of this getting picked up in the UK?

Would prefer it on BBC, FX or Sky to get it in HD.

DOLLHOUSE focuses on a secret organization that employs "Actives"

You would expect it to be good with such a nice plot, it always depends on how they handle it.

The trailer isn't that impressive but I have faith in Joss Whedon, after all I was unimpressed with the pilot of Firefly but grew to love the show.

Greg I'm sure Joss Whedon has written some bad episodes of Buffy/ Angel but more often than not his episodes tend to be the best in which ever show he makes. The problem lies with the other writers Joss brings on board, they can be hit and miss in my opinion.

Why wasn't it his fault?

The original movie version of Buffy was pretty bad. Personally I think his Toy Story script was a tad overrated, although it has some splendid moments ("I'm just afew blocks away!"). And it's difficult to tell how much of Titan A.E. he was responsible for... maybe just the good bits.

Never really dug Buffy, thought it was 3 steps down from Angel in every way, now that was a hell of a show at it's best, crying shame they canned it, it could have easily carried on.

Buffy was just as good as Angel and there would be no Angel (character and show) if it wasn't for Buffy.

Sure it's all opinion, in mine, Buffy didn't do it for me, Angel did. For sure on the last point however .
