"Manuelgate" is purely a media creation, another example of media exagerration destroying peoples careers....of course I don't care because Russell is a douche... but poor Jonathan Ross!

Great ep. Jack Dee on song throughout (right through to out-take after end credits). Frank Skinner harking back to days of old before he got stale

Who needs Merton?

Hi,

The Extended Version of the Jack Dee episode from Friday night, was extremely funny, and possibly the best episode of this series, thus far.

Frank and Jack seemed to have a good rapport, which was nice to watch, and even Ian Hislop was on good form. Shame the two guests were rather week. The lady was okay, but that muppet from the Daily Mail should have been replaced by the Tub Of Lard instead, for all his "worth" was to the show.

Best bit, though: Jack Dee flubs a joke. Frank Skinner making a joke. Dee sarcastically retorts "You can talk!" Frank replies "You can't!"

Re: Have I Got News For You

I went to see the Christmas special being filmed and it was a real shame that it was edited down to 30 minutes (and I didn't notice the usual 'extended' repeat on either?) .. I had got the impression that it was going to last 45 minutes.

The show recording lasted just over 2 hours and was consistently as funny as everything that was shown in the actual program. They cut out a lot of Merton messing around with his moustache - a pity as he was pretty quiet for a lot of the show anyway.

There was an extended 40 minute version played. I think it was on Boxing day evening. Very very good and it had more of Merton playing with the 'tash. He had it as a sideburn for a while. It's good to see Frank Skinner back on form, he's been good value the last couple of times he's done it.

Re: Have I Got News For You

Three repeated episodes on Dave this Saturday night starting at 10.20.
They are the extended shows. Julian Clary, Jack Dee and Brian Blessed are the guest hosts. I missed the Brian Blessed show and I understand it was worth seeing.

That was good. A bit of a difference in his attitude to say the least. I wasn't too sure about Rolf but he was good at times.

Rolf Harris was excellent and I hope he gets invited back soon as many of usual suspects are all too interchangeable.

HI,

Thought the Rolf Harris edition last night was very good. Loved the amount of mickey-taking about MP's Expenses (e.g. when Ian called them the House Of Common Criminals, and/or the House Of Frauds. ).

Also enjoyed the part when Rolf "drew" a news-story, particularly his impression of Jordan. (Looked nothing like her, but nevertheless...) Definitely a Guest Presenter I'd like to see return.

Andy Hamilton was great too! A very funny man!

Re: Have I Got News For You

This week's was excellent. The MP expenses debate continues to amuse. I was very confused at the very start when there was a vicar on that I recognised. What a change of profession.

I'm with Bri, I thought this week's episode was very good! David Mitchell was very funny as always, the vicar was highly amusing in places and it was only the comic alongside Paul who was a bit below par for me.

Mitchell and the ex Communard/vicar Richard Coles were brilliant. The comic was ok.

I love Ruth Jones but she took a little while to find her feet here. Once she did it was excellent.

One of the writers of (and also stars in) Gavin & Stacey.

She has done quite a bit of other stuff, I remember her from Fat Friends.

Not forgetting Myfanwy in Little Britain. It's amazing how different she looks in Gavin & Stacey... hardly recognisable
