Boston Legal S1 DVD boxset query

I couldnt see anythng in reference to this after doing a search

I bought Boston Legal recently on DVD which I really enjoyed

I just find it strange that the box set contains 17 episodes - isnt this a little bit of a strange numbler

The other thing that struck me was at the end of the "last" episode there was a ....."next time on Boston Legal" clip as though the series hadnt finished, if it had surely they would have various clips for the coming series?

Anyone have any ideas?

ok thanks - just seemed a bit odd to me

Is 17 episode run "normal" then in the US - as I thought 13 /26 episode a season was normal (being 1/4 or 1/2 a year )

very few over here seem to be that number per season

The broadcaster cut short the first season so they could show the short season of 9 episodes of bloody Grey's Anatomy. The missing episodes were added to the next season.
