Incredible new TV programs coming soon...

...we should not be surprised to see ...

Celebrity Flatulence - in which cameras follow a group of celebrities, including Jade Goody, some bloke from EastEnders and comedian, for a 8 week period capturing their every toot & pharp.

Celebrity Comic Relief Nose Picking - a group of celebrities, including an actress from Casuality, a comedienne, and another actress, are tracked for 10 week period evacuating their nasal passages in aid of Comic Relief. (Pick of the Week)

Celebrity Euthanaesia for Comic Relief against Congestion Charging in Iraq - TV cameras follow the hilarious antics of Jade Goody as she fails to remember to breathe whilst buying a congestion zone pass.

Celebrity Invasion in Aid of Comic Relief- in which a group of celebrities, including EastEnders stars, Jade Goody and an actor are trained by the SAS to drive cars. Little do they know that they are to spearhead the invasion of Iraq on Comic Relief day. See them meet the Imperial Guard with hilarious results.

OK I apologise. I was attempting to observe -

the endless Celebrity This, Celebrity That programs that pass for TV entertainment at the moment.

that anything and anybody, no matter how trivial, stupid, uneducated etc, appears to be considered to have entertainment value (especially if it's connected with charity)

that stupidity, crassness, lack of education appear to be cause for celebration, laughter and even role-modelling.

the irony of there being a program about people being trained by the SAS given the current impending military situation.

Maybe thats a bit clearer? (Chris Morris would understand)

Finally Apocolypse - what does "atm" mean? At the moment I'm thinking Automatic Teller Machine? Asynchronous Transfer Mode? Anyone would think that these posting had a limit on the number of chara

'At The Moment', perhaps.
...or how about 'Always Talk Manically'.

Nice one Dave.

I can't understand how stupidity has come to be something to be rewarded on telly.

And why would anyone want to watch something as mundane as a person learning to drive? Did they broadcast the 'celebrities' live as they filled in their theory test?

Hopefully there'll be a couple of fatalities soon, to recreate that 'late late breakfast show' effect...
