Enterprise - Getting Boring Now

I've persevered for well over a season with this series but it's just not going anywhere, the strories are boring and most of the characters are stale. As a keen viewer of TNG, DS9 and Voyager am I wrong in my assessment or is this indeed a poor series never mind a poor season?

The only characters I can stomach are Hoshi and T'Pal, dunno why.

Cool

I have not really got in to the series myself to the point I do not know all the characters names is Hoshi the translator?(joke).

I find they do not do those gripping stories that the other series you mention nearly each episode seems like a padded. I was not a big fan of DS9 but it was better than Enterprise. Then only time it is any good is when the Sulabon are involved.

Seasons 6 & 7 of DS9 were the best trek episodes ever, the Dominion war was fantastic and the continuing storyline was compelling. The early seasons of DS9 before Worf were indeed utter poo so we agree on that I think.

Enterprise needs some good battles and needs to kill some characters off, everything is too nicey nicey atm. maybe I'l get lucky and they'll kill everyone off except Hoshi and T'Pal and in a fit of dispair the two spend one night together in a special unrated episode shown at 11pm................ok I clearly need my medication now.

That’s what the series could do with is some good two parters. As Apocalypse say we could do with some battles, and less chit chat.

I'm waiting for when they start off the earth/romulan war that was mentioned by spock in an episode of star trek, where the enterprise (ncc1701) plays cat & mouse with a romulan bird of prey & the romulan commander was played by Mark Lenard ,who would go on to play spocks dad in later years. confused? so am I!

You beat me. I thought that the first episode was excellent showing plenty of promise but went downhill from there. I gave up halfway through the first series.

I think it is suffering from the same ailment that TNG & Voyager suffered from - there is just no direction. It is just aimlessly going from one incidental episodic story to another.
To my mind a series needs some kind of arc story in order to achieve any momentum.

I think they made a massive mistake with the choice of actor for the captain. I can't name him cos i watched the firest episode then turned it off...............not a good choice at all IMHO

Yeah, Captain Sam Becket seems nice, but it can seem that he is tryin to impose his high morals on a crew which are bullish & very strong headed in classic Americian way.

The recent episode with Hoshi going through the transporter was not entertaining. However in last weeks' episode where the Chief Engineer (Trip) is kidnapped and the crew need to find him, Scott Backu (the Captain) had all the best lines.

I'm upset that Sky do not show it in Widescreen . Also I'm finding that I don't mind missing an episode or two, since I haven't grown attached to it.

Worse its missing a lot of techno babble, feels shorter in length & it seems to carry no/little value in terms of repeatability.

True DS9 was slow but I soon enjoyed it, purely on the interesting characters and their history.
