The third season of '24' has been commissed by Fox TV in the States today.

Apparently it's rare for new seasons to be greenlit mid-season but 24 has now become the 5th most watched TV series in the States and the rise in popularity has prompted Fox's actions.

The best thing is that the show's writer's were apparently waiting for this news as they have some really intricate story lines planned that would only have been possible if they knew the current season would not be the last
