Hi,

Good news and bad news, folks! The good news, "E.R." has the latest 14th Season arriving on terrestrial Channel 4, just three days after the digital More4 premiere!

But, as is now more often the case, there's double doses of bad news too. "E.R." will now be showing on Saturday nights and at around 8pm each Saturday thereafter.

whats even more strange is that have decided to go up against its UK equivalent, Casualty.

I'm guessing, that like me, people who watch the one are likely to watch the other.

What the is Ch4 doing putting the new series of ER on at 7PM

99% it will be cut.

It's repeated on CH4+1 and hour later so the 2nd episode will go out at 9pm on that channel.

Doubt whether that will make a difference though.

ER on a Sat nigth don't feel right.

I want it midweek at 9/10pm

Well, firstly, "ER" is on C4 at 8pm, each Saturday night, and not 7pm. The only reason it started at 7pm yesterday night, was to repeat the Season 13 final episode, as a reminder - though how any true fan could forget the ending is beyond me!

Secondly, it does appear to be completely uncut, both for language and medical/gore/violence as was proven by last night's Season 14 opener. The word "b*ll*cks" was left in; plenty of medical footage of Neela's insides and other associated medical injuries from the explosion at the protest rally, as was footage of Tony assaulting the alleged person who released the explosive!

So, providing C4 don't censor it at all, then although I'd prefer a 9pm or 10pm evening slot during the week, I'm happy to forgive them this once, putting it on on a Saturday night at prime-time! At least it still beats the bandages off of "Casualty"!

That's good news then.

I didn't see any obvious cuts so it's all good.

I guess it's not that big a deal it going out on a Saturday (feels strange though) since most of my tv watching (nominal given how much is on most of the time) is via the PVR.

Opening credits then straight to a 4 min advert.

I watched the final episode of season 13 on channel4 HD on Saturday night and the picture quality was very good, even though it was upscaled sd.
I wonder why Ch4 never purchased the HD versions

I know its already started on E4/More4 but was waiting for C4 in case it was in HD.
