its an okay comedy-drama series, nothing special in my view having watched all episodes to date (about 11 or 12 up to the US writers strike)

out of all the okay/good new US series this 07/08 season, I'd put it at the bottom (that still makes it better than Bionic Woman and Flash Gordon

It's odd. It has all the elements of Chuck but just doesn't hang together as it should. It's certainly watchable and worth the time but it isn't great.

I think the lead lacks charisma overall.

Ive watched the first episode and found it pretty engrossing,

Good premise to the story and reasonably funny, definitely worth watching

Well, Ep 11 isn't due to air until March and I doubt it's that popular that it'll be leaked early.

But if you look around there isn't even an episode 11 listed anywhere. I think the poster means they've seen up to and including episode 10 (?)

, so its not great then - was it not a hit in the states then?, does not smallville work to the same formula? specially at the start, ive seen S1 (most of it), and that is now on S7, so will Reaper be given a chance for S2...

I'm not sure if a whole season has been ordered, or its all on hold and may or may not come back with a whole second season for 08/09 once the WGA strike's over. I'm not saying its a bad show at all ... just nothing special so far, if you get my drift. I like the comedy performance of his fat beardy mate - that actor's always good value, and I've always liked Ray Wise since Twin Peaks!

Good point about Smallville - being meteor freak of the week for much of season 1, before they saw sense - I've seen every ep and it has become something special made by people who love the DC universe.

With a bit of tweaking, and properly picking up a bit of story progression (at the end of one of the middle episodes of the 10 that have aired ... but appears to have been abandoned) on the whole contract with the devil thing it could be a whole lot better.

Its that thingy of the week style that has kind of sapped my interest, though I have watched every episode. I enjoy Chuck a whole lot more ... and I believe it was picked up for a full season ... though thats all academic in light of the strike

cheers krish, i stick with it, to see if i drift off it or not. Yes it has potential, it was a good pilot - but have the writers got intelligence to take it anywhere that is the question as you say.

I also watched the original pre-air pilot - the only difference being that it was a different but still attractive young actress playing the girl (i.e. not Candice from Heroes - Missy Perygrym)

Did anyone else think that E4 did a lousy job of showing it? The first advert came about 3 minutes in, and at this point it was a 21 year old bloke talking to his parents. hardly rivetting viewing. I wonder how many people surfed and didn't bother coming back? Me, I just recorded and it after that first 3 minute 'clip' and watched it later. I'm not having the flow of the show disrupted by trailers for Big Brother

As for the show, a few laugh out loud moments, but much like "Earl", if I miss an episode I'm not fussed.

Yes E4 did a lousy job showing it. Can they not employ a non-amateur to put the commercial breaks in the spots designed by the programme makers for the insertion of commercial breaks?!

After two episodes, all it's made me realise is just how good 'Brimstone' was and how tragic it was for it to get pulled by those fundamentalist nutters at Fox.

Reaper is just lame and misses the point of the setup completely. Mind you, had they got Jason Lee and Jack Black for the roles, rather than two really cheap bad versions, then it might have stood a chance.

It gets one (maybe two) more chance(s) for me.

Seen the first 13 and enjoy them for what they are, pretty much throw away light entertainment although it has to be said there has been a definite arc element thrown into the mix and the series has raised itself a notch or two.
A pity we may not get a second season.
