Re: Smallville Season 7 - UK airing ??

The same time next year that season 6 started this year since CH4 obviously no longer values Smallville as a front line crowd puller.
That said with a number of shows failing to meet their contracted runs they may need to bring Smallville forward or switch shows entirely since it has got more eps in the can than many others.

Re: Smallville Season 7 - UK airing ??

Not to mention NYPD Blue, when we had to wait years until C4 decided to even bother to show the last couple of seasons and even then on More 4.

C4/More4/E4 really don't deserve any decent ratings, they seem to treat their viewers like and are only interested in Big Brother.

I seem to remember they did a similar thing with Lost, when it was the next big thing, hyped it up to unbelievable levels promising to show it in January as I recall and ended up leaving it until the summer. Is it any wonder that people downloaded it instead and it didn't get they ratings they thought it would?

Personally, I try to avoid watching anything on any variant of C4 if at all possible, as I never know if I start getting into something, if/when they'll ever decide to show it again.

Exclamation Re: Smallville Season 7 - UK airing ??

Danaldhino,

"Lost" (Season 1) was hyped on C4 and E4, but then delayed for about 6-months, by which point, many people were annoyed at the lengthy and unnecessary delay. As such, Season 2 was brought forward and aired much sooner, but then C4 decided (once again ) that not enough people were watching, and so, Sky 1 nabbed Season 3 onwards.

I'm still waiting for Season 6 of "Third Watch", and at this rate, the DVD will be out, before a UK channel airs it. I know FX will be airing Season 5 in 2008, and then Season 6 in 2009, but no single channel has bothered to air this excellent US import, with all the episodes being aired uncut and in order!

Smallville series 7 starts on E4 on Tuesday 27th May at 21.00 hrs and begins with a double episode

Finally E4 gets their fingers out and show this season that is virtually finished in the US

Re: Smallville Season 7 - UK airing ??

Looking forward to this

One thing really bugs me though........why is Channel 4 HD just a simulcast of Channel 4 ?

I would love to watch Smallville in HD, but yet again we get a show in SD first. They managed it with My Name is Earl, amongst others, so why not Smallville ? Channel 4's HD channel would have been far better had it included a mix of shows from C4, E4 and More4.

Ian.

It's easier and cheaper for the broadcaster to do simulcast and simply slip in HD versions as and when they become available since like SKY1 before them CH4 are not going to spend the money to re-negotiate contracts to get HD masters for shows especially those like Smallville no longer do the business for them unlike Earl.

Re: Smallville Season 7 - UK airing ??

Anybody know when the first episode is repeated?

Thanks to my idiot Sky+ (or maybe my idiot self ) I asked for the 9.00pm first episode but instead I get the 10pm second episode. So just sat down to watch it and haven't a clue what's going on obviously! Except for some fine looking babe called Kara.

I would also like to know about episode 1 as my PVR decided to only record 35 minutes of the episode.

Doesnt appear to be a repeat of the first episode but strangly E4 are showing the second episode again at 9 next week with the third episode following on at 10.

Odd choice

Oh great. My PVR also seemed to have decided to record just 45 minutes of episode 2 as well.

Too much hassle trying to get it onto my main TV. Not really interested in watching it on a small screen.

New Smallville Villains Cast

Sam Witwer (Battlestar Galactica) and Cassidy Freeman will join the cast of The CW's Smallville in its upcoming eighth season, which kicks off in the fall, the network announced. (Spoilers ahead!)

Witwer will play Davis Bloome, a charismatic Metropolis paramedic, who is forced to confront a burgeoning darkness inside of him that just might be a harbinger of doom. (Fans are speculating that Bloome will be the show's version of Doomsday, the invincible villain who caused Superman's death in the DC comics.)

Freeman will play Tess Mercer, Lex Luthor's handpicked successor who harbors her own brand of ruthlessness. Michael Rosenbaum, who played Luthor in the show's previous seven seasons, won't be returning as a series regular.

Witwer played Alex "Crashdown" Quartararo on SCI FI Channel's original series Battlestar Galactica. Freeman previously appeared in the feature film Finishing the Game: The Search for a New Bruce Lee.

How long after the screening on E4 will it appear on C4? I'm betting this will be in HD, if not, then i'll enjoy the superior upscaled PQ.

I wouldn't hold your breath. & when they do screen it, it'll be cut to shreds in order to be shown in a Sunday afternoon slot on T4.

Reaper is HD after being shown in SD first on E4, so there is a slight chance of it being in HD. But you are right about it being cut, so i'll just buy the Blu Ray in September.

Not exactly, there is only one new episode each week. They repeat the episode from the previous week and then put a new episode after it. The new episodes are from 10pm to 11pm and 11pm to 12am on E4+1.

Re: Smallville Season 7 - UK airing ??

I just bought season 7 on Blu-Ray as it was going cheap in Zavvi. Until now I've only watched as far as season 2. After watching episode 1 of season 7 I can see a lot has happened inbetween.
