the Australian geezer unfortunately

Peter Jones is back, may be not with his tail between his legs after the chav disaster of Tycoon - he's well suited to DD, but I'll question his judgement more now, after that embarrassing mess

It was awful, a cheap version of a mix between The Apprentice and Dragons Den.

Re: Dragons' Den - James Caan joins the Dragons

was just searching YouTube for a recent clip from The IT Crowd where Moss takes his 'Abracad-Bra' on DD, which also parodied Evan Davis' state the bleedin' obvious style of narration ... couldn't find it, but found this spoof and a TV Burp clip

actually i thought he was very similar to Richard, very well mannered, as for the rest of the show, still continuing down thw X-Factor road at a very rapid pace.

Re: Dragons' Den - James Caan joins the Dragons

Thought Caan was a good edition to the team, although I think he made a mountain out of a molehill re the "2000" people attending the festival issue.

Ricard thingy now missing is excellent, and a far more rounded character than troll girl who brings little to the table and who's primary achivement AFAIK is selling her family business she was handed.

Peter is an arrogant arse, the kind who frankly can't pull arrogant off. His "I don't have problems getting women because I'm good looking and wealthy" without his tongue being firmly in cheek about sums dial-a-prat up perfectly.

I agree on those points . I thought he made to much out of the 2000 people at the festival .

as for Peter Jones hes PR machine has been working great the last couple of years turning him into a likeable tv personality (not me i might add but i think the public see him like that ) but i think hes in danger of losing his appeal sharpish with statements like that.

Also im still waiting for Theo to make a first or only bid on anything . I said this last year ive never seen him bid on anything that nobody else is interested in he waits to see who likes it then "wades in " accordingly either slagging them off totally or loving it . At least PJ does have his own mind

I wasn't expecting great things of James Caan but came away imprssed with him as I was with Richard Farleigh. What I don't understand though is why do an almost identical like for like swap.

There's always got to be one good Dragon on the panel.....

Re: Dragons' Den - James Caan joins the Dragons

Does anyone else think, although funny to watch - this program is edited down so much we miss the point of all of it? Should be an hour long IMO.

Last night a young couple secured £200K for 30% of an online betting alerts website. Not once were they asked what income it generates, how & from whom & yet the girl was allowed to spin off annual projection figures of £1.8m to £3m in the next 3 years without any proof.

There's hundreds of websites like that & I really can't see why the hell he invested in it?

Sorry - realised that after I wrote it, meant to say more than an hour - or just spend more time actually explaining the propects of the deals because I see no reason to invest in that website at all from what they showed last night. Anyone could go in saying "I've got this website that's exactly the same as others & I reckon we can sell advertising on it for £3m a year"

Bear in mind though that there's a whole due diligence process to happen once the offer has been made on the show...

It seems to dumb down a little every year perhaps to appeal more to the masses who like BB and wife swap. I wish they wouldn't edit in all the sniggers and rolling eyes as well.

How a seemingly intelligent women could plough £100k of their own money into that shower thing is beyond me and amazingly she found a partner that did the same .

I wonder if she would be intrested in some magic beans I have for sale

I liked the mad inventor guy at the end, I thought some of his products were pretty good and can see them selling, glad he got a Dragon to invest.

Re: Dragons' Den - James Caan joins the Dragons

predictable and embarrassing car crash with that fantasy film pitch

didn't believe one bit of Evan Davis voiceover about the Dragons not having any advance details

Wishing Theo or Meaden were off this show with their bad jokes and condescension

Re: Dragons' Den - James Caan joins the Dragons

I love this show and its one of the only things I watch on British TV.

What has happened to the Australian guy with the funny looking head. I liked him. He reminded me of half man, half reptile with a crazy puffed up 80's style hair do.

The new guy seems ok so far. I have noticed he likes to get into bidding wars with the other dragons especially Deborah. He is also very well spoken.

Superb show.

She is bringing out the portable toilet roll holder next.....

Seriously though, what an awful idea. You gotta love this show for crazy non needed inventions like this.

When I was watching it all I kept on saying to myself was "Why?"
