Don't remember any problems with the picture, just Billie being a very naughty girl. She was even talking with her 'mouth full' at one point! Though it was all more suggestive than graphic.

Is it repeated soon? Worth a second look just to make sure ITV2 aren't letting themselves down with the picture quality.

Just mentioned this on the Bionic Woman thread but I hate stations that have a dog/logo. So I don't watch ITV2 at all. I thought this was going to be on ITV1 and I would have watched it. As it wasn't I didn't.

Re: Secret Diary of a Call Girl! Did you watch?

its bad enough having ITV2 in one corner without having bloody XXL in the other, soon there wont be much space to actually watch the feature. The PQ wasn't too bad but i did notice backgrounds had a fair amount of blocking on, still i wasnt looking at the walls that much

Re: Secret Diary of a Call Girl! Did you watch?

Shame about the very poor PQ, i'm pretty sure there are broadcast standards to adhere to and this was well below that. I watched it on Sky, maybe it'll be better on Freeview?

To rub salt, I believe it was filmed in HD too.

I like BP and only watched it for her getting her kit off, i'll admit...but does Cherie Lunghi get hers off too?

As much as BP is good eye candy in this, As an actress, I can't help feeling that she can (and has) do much better than this.

Thumbs down Re: Secret Diary of a Call Girl! Did you watch?

Hi,

I watched the show on Thursday night, and was disappointed. The picture quality was okay, (nothing special, but not bad in any way), but the show itself was not very good. (The book and website are much more provocative and interesting! )

Apart from being quite tame, (considering what the BBC might have shown, if they'd got the rights to make it), having each episode be no more than 22-23 minutes long, is far too short, for a show like this. Just as the story began to get going, suddenly, it's the end of the episode. I had expected the show to be quite raunchy, judging from all the hype and criticism of it, but what we got was very quaint by all standards!

As for the XXL thing, this is ITV2's new sponsor, (sorry, I don't know who or what they are promoting), and so they are DOG'ing several shows on Thursday nights (The Black Donnellys, Secret Adventures Of A Call Girl, and Entourage). XXL may also be a play-on-words as XXL refers to Extra Extra Large (or in porn Extra Extra Long), and hence with "Secret Adventures...", ITV2 thought they were being clever! Sorry, it failed to make me laugh, ITV.

Very annoying, but hopefully the DOG's won't be on the Sunday night repeats. See here for more details.

I am flabbergasted I have seen no thread about her current adventure. I imagined all the DVD recorders where hot last night recording her Bottom Still no worries you have time yet to watch it another ten times before next Thursday what with the repeats.

Mom says that a few years ago people used to complain all the time about the amount of repeats on TV. We have freeview /NTL/ Sky all repeats no one says a word. Nothing has changed in fact got worse.

I love repeats, I don't have sky+ but have a HDD Dvd recorder, so all the late night repeats basically give me an emulated sky+ system!

I made a comment on this yesterday in another board. The picture quality is terrible on this program cause of the way it's made Corrie n all them are not brilliant on this channel but are better than this. The programs not that good either so with that and the bad pic quality i have delted it out of my sky planner.

Yep, us oldies (me being 30) remember when "repeat" was a dirty word. And even then that was like when they repeated 1 programme like once in the early hours. Now we have entire channels with nothing but repeats, and usually the less quality stuff too. But in all fairness, before freeview and sky etc there was only 5 channels so it seemed worse.

But anyway we don't have repeats any more, we have 'second chance' and 'catch up'. Oh how the general public was sucked so easily with that one!

How was it 'made' that it makes the PQ so poor?

I thought it was made in HD which should mean a good source/master.

Has it been deliberatley degraded to obscure some of the 'adult content'?

Even by ITV's standards this is well below par and i'm sure it's below what is deemed 'broadcast quality'.

I've seen better quality home movie and CCTT clips...from the80s!

Yes, the picture quality on this is very very poor. On par with the awful coverage of the Rugby World Cup.

Particularly in some of the more important scenes.

I can't remember the name of the effect thats used to give it that look now. If i were to name it thought it would be called the out of focussed camera mode cause that's what it looks like. I can remember BP talking on tv the other week saying the programs shot in HD but if that's shot in HD ..............

I haven't seen this but they often introduce grain to video productions for atmosphere or to make it look like it was shot on film. It often looks terrible if they over do it. I remember the very last series of Shine On Harvey Moon. It was like a very bad VHS tape. At the time I had no idea why. I also recall a Vicar Of Dibley special that I couldn't bear to watch because of this treatment.

All the best

I wondered what the XXL logo was. Thought it must be something to do with ITV being "Channel of the Year", according to their idents. (ITV2, channel of the year? Ha-ha. Good joke.) If it's a sponsor's logo, then it looks like this is the much-anticipated start of advertising throughout programmes. Oh, sorry, I forgot. Sponsor's adverts aren't really adverts. (What kind of fools do they take us for?) OK, end of rant.

Re: Secret Diary of a Call Girl! Did you watch?

Obviously the rules have changed to help out flagging stations like ITV, because advertising with a permanent logo throughout a programme was against broadcasting regulstions.

For me, it will just make me watch ITV even less. One ITV logo in one corner is bad enough and as much as my plasma can take!

Re: Secret Diary of a Call Girl! Did you watch?

It's not advertising just some sort of indication to tell you your watching 'big' thursdays!

There is a run of programs from about 7 or8, going by the trail your supposed to love them all that much that you'll watch it all the way through, tell your mates and get foood in like it's an event.

Exclamation Re: Secret Diary of a Call Girl! Did you watch?

Hi,

The picture quality for the Sunday night repeat of Episode 2 of "Secret Diary Of A Call Girl" was definitely worse than last week's first episode. Colour blemishes, fuzzy detail, anti-aliasing (sp?) - it was awful. It looked like someone had deliberately transmitted a fudged print! Definitely not a good transmission.

For me, it will just make me watch ITV even less. One ITV logo in one corner is bad enough and as much as my plasma can take!
You mean it's got an ad logo as well as the ITV2 normal logo? You won't be able to see Piper's pipes!
