Las Vegas - Season 5

I know we got a few Las Vegas fans on the Forums so just to remind you Season Five Begins Tonight (September 28th) in America!

I can’t wait Las Vegas is one of my favorite TV shows of all time, every season has been great so far. But now both James Caan and Nikki Cox are no longer with the show I’m interested how things will turn out. Big Ed is most influential character on the show so I wonder how it will be without him. I’ve never seen Tom Selleck in a movie or TV show before except for 'Friends' which was sort of a comedy roll so will be good to see if he can fill James Caan shoes as Casino president. I assume James Caan will be in a few epps to transition over to Selleck, but does anyone know if Nikki will have any involvement?

As for the new episode I can’t wait! After the great season finale of season four which is one of the best season finales of a TV show I have seen. There was so much going on and so much to answer.
Who shot Mary’s Dad?
What will happen with Sam?
What happened to Delinda?
What happened with the robbery at the casino cages? Looked pretty hectic.
Will Danny have to retune to the Marines

Good thing it’s a 2 hour season premier!

Post your thoughts on the show and the epp after you watch it.

EDIT - Heres the season 5 Promo for those who have not seen it yet.
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=AGYTwA5EA7c
Warning the promo kinda spoils every cliffhanger from season 4 so be warned!

Re: Las Vegas - Season 5

I was watching an episode on Sky One last night, this fit chick (quite small) got drugged and got thrown into this big luggage case - kidnapped I suposed. It's quite an entertaining show.

Re: Las Vegas - Season 5

I'll be downloading again not just because of the delay SKY have for broadcasting but I don't think SKY1 will pick up the fifth season based on their rushed treatment of the fourth.

I recon Danny shot Marys dad, no Nikki Cox or James Caan this season i think the programe might suffer for this now.

Wow what a great season opener! so much happened i may have to watch it again to make sure i catched everything. Very sad to see Ed leave he was a major part of Vegas i dont think it will feel the same without him, Still have mixed feelings on 'Cooper' will have to see how it goes. One thing i didnt get though was... why did Mitch buy a car when he is diabled? :S how would he drive it.

With levers on the steering column. Seriously, you don't know how wheelchair bound people can drive or you were jesting?

Interesting first episode, I wonder what direction they will take the show in. How many scam artists/cheats etc can they foil? It's always been a pretty lightweight comedy drama so I wonder if they'll beef it up a bit. I just wish they'd drop the carp music interlopes. It's like The Unit, three series in and they seem to be changing the format substantially. Better or worse? We'll see.

Re: Las Vegas - Season 5

I didn't notice what kind of car it was but with it being in America it was probably an Automatic. They can be driven with an accelerator and break hand control you don't need to use your legs to drive it just steer with your one hand and use the hand control with the other hand.

I wouldn't feel confident taking the controls of a car which didn't use pedals and if I owned said car I wouldn't let someone drive who hadn't had experience

Who else is delighted the Korean(?) manicurist is still in the show?

Always seems inappropriate but invariably very funny. I did wonder if she was actually a stand up who just guest appears.

They always seem to tie up the cliffhangers very quickly. Like the Sam abduction - tense scenes in the cliffhanger, sorted in 1 minute in the season opener....

Re: Las Vegas - Season 5

I've been watching at Sky One pace, so about to see the end of S4 tonight, especially as it looks so good in HD, but I think I'm going to download S5, as the way Sky have been treating it, I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't show it after this. I'm guessing that the reason for shunting it later and later in the schedule (midnight tonight, even after a repeat of Prison Break) is that it's not getting great ratings

Re: Las Vegas - Season 5

Been away since last Thursday and saw the dreaded "failed" on my planner next to the Season 4 finale of Las Vegas shown on Sky One HD

Been looking for a repeat but have had no success, can anyone help point me in the right direction?

Thanks a lot!

I think you are going to have to search the torrent sites mate.

Season 5 is INCREDIBLY poor though. Think "last season of Airwolf" poor...

Re: Las Vegas - Season 5

Your right it hasnt been good so far, I'm hoping it will pick up soon.

For me the loss of Ed isnt much of a problem, the characters of Danny and Mike needed him to go in order for them to grow (as odd as that sounds in a programme like this!) the only problem now is that Cooper isnt much of a character, his whole 'anything can happen' motif is getting dull as nothing has happened!

The Danny & Delinda relationship is getting far to much screen time, along with the Sam / Shrink stuff. I realise she has to get over her ordeal but something like that in the real world will take a long long time, the writers cant afford to spend to much more time on it as it will just get annoying.

The 4th episode of this new season was pretty much all about Danny, Delinda and Sam. The only other distraction was a bikini contest but no real storyline.

Re: Las Vegas - Season 5

Just get's dumber and dumber. So Magnum's a supposed computer genius who can disable the entire security of a casino he's literally just bought and flummox resident "tech guy" Mike, whilst disappearing from the Montecito Jet??

And another one of those awful bands who happen to play at the casino whilst the entire security team (and cast) stupidly "jig along" as if they are into rappers.

Not to mention the egg part...

AAAAAAAAARGHHHHH What the hell have they done to this show - I mean it was bad, but now it's terrible.

Re: Las Vegas - Season 5

Something to consider after tonights episode...

(from TV.com)

Is AJ Cooper Thomas Magnum? Here is my reasoning.. 1. Colt 1917 in a box labelled "Battle of Kai Sahn". Thomas Magnum was in that battle. 2. Thomas Magnum was an intelligence officer (navy seal) and re joined the navy on the series finale of "magnum pi". AJ has lot's cool spy toys that he has used!!!! 3. The actors that play Rick and TC show up in last nights episode. TC's character made his billions starting only with 1 helicopter (Island Hoppers?) and now owns a few hundred jets. Notice the Hawaii drivers licence. Rick's character made his billions in the bar industry (king Kamamaha club anyone!!!). 3. The coin collection that "A.J." completed with Sam's coin was one of "higgins" aka Robin Master's prize possessions. Just putting the pieces together... If this all comes together..It could be one of the greatest TV plot lines ever!

My Uncle's a Gas

Now that is a cliff hanger, almost a shame the second part is next week and not next season
Alas there were some weak moments but plenty of hot ladies, Sam, some laughs and a heist and well deserving the label of best ep of the season so far.

Re: Las Vegas - Season 5

Not for this season.
As with many shows it was slightly truncated due to the upcoming strike and a "proper" finale was created and as of yet no decision as to a 6th season. There were 3 other episodes in the initial run which according to sources would have involved the return of Dean Cain but they could now be the opening of a 6th season.

Las Vegas has always been fluffy nonsense and at least this season no one has been blown off the roof of the hotel and glided the entire length of the strip

It can be as fluffy and nonsensical as it likes, so long as Vanessa Marcil stays in it

For what it's worth, I enjoyed this last season as much as I've enjoyed the previous ones and look forward to more, if it gets renewed.
