Seeing as no-one else seems to have, I thought I'd start a thread on the new season that started this week, having just seen and thoroughly enjoyed the first episode.
Is it just me or has anyone else noticed they seem to have changed the production style slightly? Specifically when outside the hospital the camera seems to float around more. I'm sure it used to be a more stable fixed camera, like it still is when inside the hospital. It now feels more like the Battlestar Galactica production style to me, maybe I'm imagining it.
Overall a really good episode and hope they keep the quality level up for the rest of the season.
Particularly enjoyed the interaction between House and Wilson, which is still one of the strongest parts of the show. Had a couple of genuinely laugh out loud moments, particularly when
House was being 'threatened' by Wilson after breaking into Wilson's home and House says 'bring it on' then chucks Wilson's phone out of the window.
Also liked the little touches like
when Wilson's reading the paper and all the words are cut out that he used for the ransom note.
Didn't see the twist at the end coming with the injured woman.
Strange how
the opening credits were exactly the same as last season but no sight or word on what Cameron, Chase, or Foreman are up to now. Maybe that'll be cleared up next episode. The obvious storyline is that House begs them back after struggling for a few episodes, though I've read it may pan out differently.
One thing that puzzles me is what was the thing
Wilson damaged and put in the cardboard box that House found while routing about? Was it part of a guitar, such as the handle that changes the pitch when pulled on? Sorry about the description, I'm not a guitarist! Confused if it was, as the guitar that was 'kidnapped' seemed undamaged at the end of the episode.
