You ever dance with the devil by the pale moonlight?

A quote from Mr Nicholson from Batman.

However, was watching Columbo over crimble (sad isn't it) and a guy throws this quote at another, who replies "thats Jack" or something similar.

Now these early Columbo episodes were mid 70's

So is this quote from an earlier Nicholson film? Was he then ironically quoting himself in 89?

Someone please clarify.

The series then ran from the late eighties unitil 2001 so I guess it was one of the later ones, can you remember the name of the episode, now I admit that would be really sad but you admitted to watching them in the first place

No this was an old one, complete with big burners and wide leg pants.

Which led to my suspicions of an earlier quote, possibly from "One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest"?

Who was the antagonist in the story, or what was the clever way of death?

I saw this one also and remember the part you're talking about. It was at the card game with all the supposed old Hollywood actors. The guy that used to be in Bewitched was playing. It may well have been an episode made after Batman though as Columbo always looks the same. The series is brilliant and we are in for a treat next week as there is one on Ch5 ever afternoon .

It should be borne in mind that, long before the movie, there were the comics. Although I can''t confirm from personal knowledge, is it possible or likely that the quote used in the film was actually used first in the comics - long before the film, and long before 'Columbo' - and that 'Jack' is actually Jack Napier - the character name?

OT but Batman was on last night on channel 5

Why wasn't it advertised anywhere? I hardly watch TV especially ch. 5 so how were people like me supposed to know?

Guess I've got to buy the DVD now then. Don't see how I have any other choice
