Ice Road Truckers

New series just started in the US, charting the hazardous journey across frozen wasteland of North Canada, to diamond mines.

Along the lines of Deadliest Catch; here's more info

Re: Ice Road Truckers

I'll give that a watch, could be interesting and well shame it's not HD (the most often felt emotion when watching TV these days).

Re: Ice Road Truckers

For those without the History Channel the series is coming to Five on Wednesday at 8pm, it's a fascinating insight into a job and the incredible courage it took to create the ice roads.

Re: Ice Road Truckers

Yep, im really into trucks(models and the real thing), and as soon as i seen this advertised on Channel 5 last week, i set my PVR to record the first 2 episodes on Wednesday and Friday.
It looks very interesting, and as already mentioned....different.

Re: Ice Road Truckers

I'm still loving this series on 5, who'd have thought trucks driving on a wee bit of ice could be so interesting

Not to mention life threatening!
I am really loving this series, i am recording episode 5 as i write this.

On the last episode, i really felt sorry for the guy that was banned from the ice for speeding....you could see there were tears in his eyes when he was being filmed while writing his appeal.

It was quite funny(shouldnt laugh really)when TJ had his very first drive in that amazing Volvo VN, and had an accident when he slid into a pick up truck at a road junction(his fault) before he even got onto the ice..and it wasnt even his truck he was driving.

I like all the featured characters, even grumpy Hugh.

EDIT.
Have just watched the episode now, and as it turned out - the accident wasnt TJ's fault, it was down to mechanical failure.
