Re: don't get done get dom

Hello i saw it last time it was on TV, but yes in general i will haggle on anything

even if its a cheap price i will usually be able to haggle myself off some cash

if you dont ask you dont get. if you walk into a shop and say i want this that and the other there not just going to offer u a little off but if you ask "what can you do for me?" ull find that without even giving them the "ok then im off!!!" youll get 10% off.

If i know its the cheapest place im happy at getting the extra 10% but if i know its quite expensive ill keeping try to get more and even turn around and walk off - most of the time they will call you back before your out the door.

I will always try and get things thrown in even after ive got the % off lol

Re: don't get done get dom

I am always trying to haggle with the sales staff, and most of the time get a few quid off or something thrown in.

But I feel that with a programme like this, retailers are now expecting the general public to ask "whats your best price" etc and are not up for negotiating on the ticket price.

I tried Kwik-fit the other day, with no luck. Remember no harm in trying, you never know

Also its great to have a crowd around you in the shop, I have had people before congratulating me on the result.

Maybe the BBC should call it 'Don't get Dom, get Damo'

He got a well good deal on todays show. Mobility scooter, list price in the shop, £1700, new model.

Customer paid £850 including spare set of batteries, crouch holder and weather protector. Not bad for a bit of haggling.

Exclamation Re: don't get done get dom

HI,

Wait until next week: Dom takes on a certain "High Street Computer Retail outlet" about laptops that mysteriously die within the 13th month of a 12-month long warranty, according to the new Radio Times! I wonder who that's going to be?! Episode is on Monday 2nd July at 9:15-10:00am on BBC1!

Would like to have seen this. Anyone know if it's repeated?

I hate PC World.

Re: don't get done get dom

good programme again showing the lady asking for discount on her conservatory .... started at £11,900 and she got it for £8,400.

WOW!

I recently got a price for new kitchen & appliances which started at £5,600. Used a few of Dom's tactics and eventually agreed on £3,620 .. yippee!

Pity those who pay the full price - having said that, the pesky salesman who do that aren't particularly nice eh?
