Justin Lee Collins does "Bring Back Star Wars"

Noticed this in the paper today, Justin Lee Collins is going to carry on his "Bring BacK....." series. following on from Grange Hill, A-Team, One Hit Wonders and Christmas #1's is "Bring Back Star Wars"

I know it seems most people dont like this guy, but I think hes quite funny in these shows and have enjoyed the previous ones.

Running around the States to get hold of the cast of the original film for a re-unioin should be fun. Wonder who wont turn up to this one after agreeing to

Re: Justin Lee Collins does "Bring Back Star Wars"

I've only seen Bring Back The A-Team but it was pretty good. Justin Lee Collins is a bit annoying though, but he can be funny too so it depends on what mood I'm in.
Trying to get the Star Wars cast back together could be interesting. Did it say in the paper when its likely to be on?

Re: Justin Lee Collins does "Bring Back Star Wars"

I dont think Star Wars (in the context of Bring Back...) is that special - how many times have the cast/ crew had anniversaries - X number of years, release of new films etc.

Grange hill and the A-team worked because they had fallen into the depth of history. So, 'Just say No!'

Still, I like JLC, he does a great Tom Jones, but i wish he would stop wearing everysingle Tshirt from Truffleshuffle et al -give us normo's a chance!

Re: Justin Lee Collins does "Bring Back Star Wars"

Did I not read somewhere that its the "B" cast that he is looking to get together ?

Those actors who where not so luky to make it big or who are more known for the cult status ? (swear Don Henderson was mentioned, thought he was dead)

Could actually be quite intetesting but I would not have thought that difficult, most of the cult guys seem to do conventions and Carrie Fisher probably turns up to the opening of a window

pics here

http://www.theforce.net/latestnews/s...ars_112970.asp

Seems no suprises there at all, all seem regulars on convention scene and one or other often on TV or radio when something new and SW related comes out. Would have been more impressed if had gone for the BIG 3 of Han, Luke and Leia

Re: Justin Lee Collins does "Bring Back Star Wars"

Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill wouldn't have showed up for this no matter how much cash was involved,it's well known that Ford hated his role and Hamill is jealous(allegedly) of Ford's fame.

Re: Justin Lee Collins does "Bring Back Star Wars"

Like most people have said. 90% of the cast all do conventions together anyway. Carrie Fisher and Billy Dee Williams are easy to find and get for a chat.

There's more chance of winning the lottery than getting Harrison ford to appear. Mark Hamill these days is very bitter and money hungry where he can, so i doubt he'll appear.

I look forward to seeing this as it was mentioned a couple of years ago but i thought it got scrapped.

He interviewed all the cast members,Lance de Gault was there,or was i halucinating that bit,the only person ever to die in an episode was there,he played a US general,if memory serves.

At the end they all met up except Mr T who had other commitments,oh,and he didn't like George Peppard one little bit.

Re: Justin Lee Collins does "Bring Back Star Wars"

The problem with these JLC 'Bring Back..' programmes is that the 'first' encounters he has with actors is that they are so obviously staged but made to look real! The last one, 'Bring Back Dallas' were cringeful to say the least. Remember Charlene Tilton in the suana and Mary Crosby on horse back and Larry Hagman in the golf cart. Being actors they can make their 'look of surprise' look realistic !!

And why the unnecessary deadline he always gives himself to complete teh task?

Unfortuantley this isn't the last in the series as I believe the original Star Trek is next

That was great, when he did his little homage i was crying with laughter. Its a good job i have sky+ because i had to rewind it to watch again, even the wife came down to see what the noise was about. Mark Hamill is a greedy so an so for asking for that much money and if he wanted to get Harrison Ford Collins should have said that he would have thrown in a holiday on the canals. Great program. Re: Justin Lee Collins does "Bring Back Star Wars"

Not surprised about Hamill. If he does anything about Star Wars he wants to be payed well, although it's his horrible/ nasty agent (who i've met) that makes up the prices.

Mark Hamill appeared at a convention here last year which was a surprise until we found out the organisers were desperate for guests (no Ford/ Fisher/ ect) and payed £20,000 for him to turn up and then charged £85 for each autograph

Hamill wnats nothing to do with Star Wars unless you pay him a stupid ammount of money

Other actors and singers/bands charge huge amounts off money, so its his right. But Hamill is not the huge star he thinks he is.

I've seen a few and read interviews with Dave and hes always come across as a nice guy.

Dont know if the Warick Davis was a pretend when they invaded his house I think I would have had an initial different reaction, but he seemed up for anything asked of him, great fun with the light sabers, and wasent he a natty dresser. Ill remeber him most for thee title role as Willow.

Athony Danials did seem a little on the uptight side but at least he did give an interview, but never turned up on the night. A bigger star and thespian Sir Ian McKellen probably would have signed the card and have had a good laugh about it.

if you signed a contract, you dont give away one off the biggest cliff hangers at the time. Though it never harmed the success off the movies, lucas should off tried to make some contact after with Prowse. But it seems most off them have grudges off one kind or another, which is understandable, they don't have to get on off camera, they are normal people after all.

Re: Justin Lee Collins does "Bring Back Star Wars"

Thought this was OK and fairly good fun in parts, though JLC can be a little too obviously crude sometimes. I'm no prude, but does he get some immature pleasure from saying c*ck as often as he can? Not big nor clever mate, just a tad boring!

Anyway, absolutely no surprise that he didn't get anywhere near to Ford (way too big a star & famously 'moved on' from the franchise) or Hamill (as stated in the show, quite well known for his dissatisfaction with his after-SW career), but Fisher was at least a good sport giving quite a candid interview (although revealing nothing too OTT - well except maybe Ford hanging naked by his Tie inside her wardrobe! ). Oh and my version of that 'slave girl Leia' statue isn't that revealing - just shows you what a pervy little bugger Lucas is (er...allegedly)! And I though I was bad for buying the standard version!

Not at all surprised she and Billy Dee didn't turn up at the reunion though.

Obvious the guys in the suits would be the ones to actually make an effort, though it was sad to hear some of the remarks about Anthony Daniels from Kenny Baker himself. I've read about this uncomfortable relationship before, but Kenny seemed (rightfully) a little upset by it! I've also seen numerous interviews with Daniels before and while it's always been obvious he's fond of the 3PO character, he has always come across as slighty precious (minor) luvvy material. Hmmm, delusions of grandeur?....I think very much so Tony! Poor show sir!

I thought most of the guys came over pretty well, apart from Daniels, with Warwick Davis being the most down to earth and a good sport - his lightsabre sketch with Justin was genuinely funny.

One person conspicuous by their absence was James Earl Jones...I wonder why JLC never tried to get him or did I miss something there?
