Read a quick snippet in the TV guide. Looks like classic stuff. Can't wait to see the "Posh Builders".

I thought the total opposite and one of the worse things H + P have done. There was nothing funny about it.

Re: Ruddy Hell! It's Harry And Paul - Harry Enfield, Paul Whitehouse

I thought a few bits were amusing, but found most of it not.

I quite liked the posh builders, bono and the edge and one bit in the laurel and hardy sketch (the bit where olly turned sideways while still 'engaged')

Is it a series or a one off?

I thought that was poor taste taking the rise that way of 2 of the most loved comedy actors that there’s been.

I guess if you think Stephen Fry is witty or Mr bean cleaver or U2 make good music then you are not going to find this program funny.

I loved the laurel and hardy sketch. They are pulling no punches. I only hope they can keep it up.

If they have to ridicule far greater comedians who will be long remembered and revered when these two a distant memory or long forgotten, with this porn I would say there scraping the barrel.

In a way, it's a tribute. They are using the same type of humour but are making funny and modern.

I bet if you watch a laurel and hardy movie today, you would bearly get a laugh.

At the end of the day, it's a matter of taste. If you like Mr bean, Laurel and Hardy type of commedy then good for. I even find that kind of humour funny now and again.

I think there’s a large following of Laurel and Hardy on the forums and I have watched the less than a year ago and was rolling with laughter especially the one where there in a haunted house. My humour runs to more than Mr Been which I cannot say I particularly find all that funny, which for some reason you tagged Laurel and Hardy fans with. I like Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Father Ted, Alexis Sayles, Two Ronnie’s, The Young Ones, A Kick up the Eighties, Naked Video, South Park, Family Guy amongst many.

So you see my humours not set in one class what I saw the other night was not funny but personally class as something the likes of you see drawn on a toilet wall with someone kid chuckling to himself all the time he was drawing it.

Tribute? I love to have seen them get away with it doing Morecambe and Wise even though they were often in the same bed on TV.

I guess it comes down to a question of taste. I just found it the program funny. I liked that fact that they were taking digs at people who are put up on a pedistal. I can't say why I found this funny I just did.

I woudn't trust my tastes anyway. I like Benny Hill.

I would like to make the point humour often has a time when it is funny. And perhaps ones age when you see something. For example, Some like it hots is often reported as being the funniest move ever. I like this movie very much but I doubt I would laugh once watching now.

There were one or two small smiles from me but on the whole it was very disapointing and I certainly will not be watching the rest if the first one was anything to go by.

I can't believe that no one complained to the BBC about showing Laurel and Hardy having gay sex?

Very funny though

Re: Ruddy Hell! It's Harry And Paul - Harry Enfield, Paul Whitehouse

The problem with the show, is that there were a lot of new characters with new "punchlines". If you caught a one off episode of the Fast Show without having seen it before you would struggle to find a lot of it funny - "This week I have mostly been eating peas" for example.

Nothing funny about it the first time, but over time it becomes utterly hilarious. Another example "Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.... Which was nice"

It takes a while to accept new characters.

The Mourinho gag was nice, posh scaffolders were nice. I loved the Polish coffee shop workers. Bono was great. Mandela was funny.

Some characters weren't such a hit.

I think they are badly missing Kathy Burke though.

All in all, I like Harry Enfield and I find Paul Whitehouse hilarious - even just to look at. It was only the first episode, needs 2 or 3 more to be shown before a firm decision can be made on it.

Oh, and I love Harry Enfields pic on the imdb....

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0256960/

OK. I seem to be only one here who loved the show. I'm not a wierd guy so I'm not sure why I seem to alone on this one. I was working at time time of the show and was periodically interrupted by phone calls so maybe I missed the defining bad moments.

What I loved about the show for me was how they hit the mark. Like the crude Saffi character. I've met this bloke. The cold hearted eastern europeans girls. I've met these girls.

The Lauren and hardy/broke back mountain was brilliant. I dont think I've seen a better imitation.

I thought the nelson mandela character was a bit wiered until he introduced "Nelson Mandela fighting beer".

Judging by the amount of offence the program seems to have cause on this forum, I'm guessing the show wont last.

Only by the loony PC brigade, it's not even insulting to L&H, it's a funny take on what L&H would be like if they bid brokeback mountain. Even if it was insulting, it's no different from what Spitting Image did for years.

I'll reserve judgement until after another few episodes but IMO it wasn't bad at all.
