Exclamation Desperate Housewives - Last night's C4 episode!

Hi,

Anyone else see "Desperate Housewives" on Channel 4 last night, and enjoyed the episode as much as I did?! This season has been such an improvement over 1 and 2, and Marc Cherry (the show's creator) has really worked wonders on the scripts. Last night's episode was a case in point: A blinding episode, with the best bits of "Frasier", "Prison Break" and "24"! I was totaly stunned when a character gets shot. (Don't want to mention who, just in case I accidentally spoil it for someone! ) Truly the best episode I've ever seen of the show, and Felicity Huffman (aka the wife of actor William H. Macy), deserves an Emmy award!

Re: Desperate Housewives - Last night's C4 episode!

i thought the new series was getting a bit boring myself, i loved the first, loved the second in which things changed a bit, bit it's getting a bit too much like a sit com or something, rather than the underlying story

the ep you refer to was alright tho, but this s3 hits the old mid season dry patch

felicity huffman is good, i was hoping her hubby would do a cameo sometime. she's also good in transamerica, i think she got an oscar or something for that. didn't she get an emmy this year?

i prefer ugly betty these days, salma hayek vs eva longoria!

Yes, I thought it was a great episode too. When that character (who shall be nameless) was shot, I wasn't sure whether to be happy or sad.

I was a bit disappointed that Julie's falling for Edie's nephew. I thought she had more sense. Maybe she and Susan are more alike than we were led to believe.

Totally agree with Pooch. I think the series has been excellent so far. Hysterically funny and then unexpectedly dramatic the next.

Highlights so far have been Carlos and Gabrielle's feuding.

Only blot on the landscap is Susan's new boyfried played by Dougray Scott, with the most appalling Englisg accent. Why they didn't go for his native Scottish burr is a complete mystery. Drives me nuts when he's on screen. Shame as he's generally a good actor.

thats how dougray scott normally sounds, he isn't playing an englishman, he is scottish on the show. ewan macgregor's accent is similar. to think dougray scott was passed over for bond and ended up on desperate housewives. i think he would have made a great bond, but daniel craig was a great choice too

He sounded (and acted) a lot better in MI2.

He's listed as 'a fictional English character' on Wikipedia (yes I know... not the most wholly reliable source), but I'd always assumed his character was English.

And don't forget that Ewan McGregor has played the role of that most English of actors Alec Guiness AKA Obi Wan
