Re: Supernatural Season 2 (UK) Spoilers

Thanks Duncan,

I had been kicking myself as I thought I'd put it on the Sky+ planner but it wasn't there.

Glad there's a repeat; as soon as I saw your post I put it on the planner, but I'll try and watch it live anyway.

Re: Supernatural Season 2 (UK) Spoilers

i think its just me but i was little hacked off with this episode. last episode sam wouldnt shoot his dad to kill the demon, now in this episode his dad gives his life away and gives up the colt and the demon is still alive now theyre worse off than they were just one episode ago.

i think they should have gone the route of a diffent story arc for each seris rater than the same one dragged on and on though out each seris

I saw it a different way, I believe their Dad knew Dean was a dead man and traded his life for Deans (BTW, he didn't initially expect to give up more than the colt). I think this sets the new series up nicely.

.....then he would have just died died, this way, he had to make a pact with the devil to save Dean, and though i always dont watch 'next week' trailer after a episode finishes, i assume the dad is alive and now working for the devil himself*, though the dad probably has a plan..., so there is the story why they did not kill him straight off season 1, he's just as important to the show as are his sons.

For all we know Season 2 opener could of been filmed for season 1 end, but they decided to keep it for Season 2 opener, does it really matter, thats how shows/characters survive. Jack Bauer could off been killed in 24 season 2, job done, right?

* please no spoilers for UK episodes not shown yet.

Re: Supernatural Season 2 (UK) Spoilers

Good to have Supernatural back

The episode reminded me of something I'd seen in the past (maybe an episode of the X-Files ?), where someone else was near death and having an out of body experience in a hospital.......

Mind you, Supernatural has quite openly nicked bits from other SF shows before, so shouldn't really be surprised

Good looking Reaper though, I don't fear death as much anymore !

Ian.

Re: Supernatural Season 2 (UK) Spoilers

Yeah it will be interesting when we found out what Dad whispered to Dean. Was it about Sam and the other special kids? Or did Dad tell Dean what deal he had made for him and it is weighing heavy on his mind?

Either way, I am hoping that the Dad will appear again at some point - let's face it, it's not going to be too hard to write him back in. If they can do it with Bobby Ewing ......

Re: Supernatural Season 2 (UK) Spoilers

Last nights episode Bloodlust was censored from the original US version. In the opening scene ITV have removed the part where the vamp hunter cuts off the girls head and her body falls to the floor. I hope this is not going to be an ongoing thing with ITV as I really love this show.

Don't think we needed to see it really as it was well covered later in the episode. Some things are more effective not seeing them.

Good to bring another character into the equation - maybe we will see more of the Vamp hunter?

It does seem strange that the first episode of this second series did feel like the end of the first series - with the Dad dying and everything. Will we see him again in this series?

What with X-Files and Pea soup references, was last night's episode too much tongue in cheek or just comedy?

Liked the reference at the end when Sam said to Dean (about the woman cop) "do you recognise her, she looks familiar ....." If I'm right about this, the actress who played the woman cop who helped them out was played by Linda Blair - the girl from the Exorcist all those years ago ..........

Re: Supernatural Season 2 (UK) Spoilers

Anyone getting a tad bored just now?

It's mostly standalone episodes with a wee bit mythology at the end of each one.

I watched the fist season on dvd so maybe the secong season needs a wee while yet as the first ten of so on the first season were ok but after that it got better with cliffhangers etc.

I would have though with so many ex X-files crew onboard they would tell them how it's done.

The story arc isn't that interesting, but the interaction between Dean and Sam is still keeping the interest. Dean's one liners are great if not at times down right filth

The doll episode was creepy as pants too, so its still doing its job well IMHO.

I think you've got a point. I suppose like any series of this ilk the programmes will tend to be standalone to a degree but with references made to the underlying storyline - in this case, Sam and his destiny being one of the children picked by the Demon.

In the last episode we didn't really see much of this (apart from Sam asking Dean to kill him if he turned dark side) and I feel we need to see this progressing a touch.

"The Demon" seems to have disappeared without a trace. The episode where all the townspeople were going mad with the virus (and Sam was immune) seemed to indicate that the demon was coming for them but this hasn't materialised.

I am hooked to Supernatural and you can almost forgive the odd sidetrack (thought the episode with the little girl in the hotel was a bit too much like Shining) and look forward to what's going to happen over the remaining episodes.

Just can't help but thinking that the cliffhanger will involve Sam finally facing his demon ....... and it going off air for another 12 months.

PS - did anyone else notice the references to the Shining in the last episode. Dean having a drink with the barman like Jack did ..... and the room they were in (237) was that the same as the room the little boy saw the woman in the bath in The Shining?

The cliffhanger before the finale seems ok, overall I'd say some duff episodes in this season as opposed to the first season.

Re: Supernatural Season 2 (UK) Spoilers

I thought that part one of the finale was superb. Really sets it up well for next week - agree with a previous post that the Djinn episode and the Prison blues were both good.

I would say that part one of the finale was the best episode easily in season two - let's hope part two of the finale lives up to my expectations.
