(not that i have any complaints about ch5 showing just wondered) .

I read something about March is this right ?

Hi,

Season 6 of "The Shield" will be aired on Five, but probably not until May or June 2007 at the earliest. However, they may choose to air it on FiveUS, before it airs on Five, but no official word as of yet about their plans.

Oh and I soooo want shane to die, lem was my favourite character.

apart from being good at what he did , he was the voice of reason in Vics ear if it was up to Shane hes just kill everyone ,he already had a hand in Tevones near death.

I shoudl just say, that in Raven's defence, Lem's death isn't actually a spoiler, as this occurred in Season 5, which ended several months ago now, on Five, in the UK. Obviously, if you've not seen Season 5, then it will be a spoiler, and I'm sure Raven didn't mean to do this. But, it isn't a spoiler for UK-based "Shield" fans.

I've been an AV Forums user for quite some time but I've only just stumbled upon the 'TV Programmes' section, oh boy, what a find!

I'm always having trouble tracking down my programmes and there's nothing worse than missing the first few episodes of a series before you've realised it's on.

Really looking forward to Series 6 of The Shield and thanks to these forums, I don't think I'll be missing it either!

It is if you're waiting to get it on DVD, that's why people should always use the spoiler option. Nothing worse than hearing someone say "Great film - they all get killed in the end. Oh, didn't you know ? Hope I didn't spoil it for you...

What you say is true, and I can only apologise. But, in all fairness, there are lots and lots of TV shows that haven't been released yet on DVD, and if we weren't allowed to discuss them, because someone didn't know about what happens, then it would be a little unfair.

I should also state, that this thread is clearly titled "The Shield season 6". I would have hoped - and no offence is meant to anyone - that if you browse the posts in this thread, knowing that you haven't seen any or all of the previous seasons (for whatever reason), then you will probably come across at least one thing, you may have preferred not to have heard about.

As I say, I'm genuinely very sorry that the death of a major character may have spoiled a person's potential enjoyment of the show, but - as I said before - we can't tipsy-toe around any show/movie that someone hasn't seen yet, on the chance they may not want the ending to be ruined for them. Your best bet - as I have learned from hard experience on these forums - is to be wary of reading ANY threads or posts that deal with shows/movies you may not have seen yet!

You make a good point actually and as the thread is titled season 6, anyone who hasn't seen earlier episodes should think very carefully before plunging in. Season 5 is due out very soon on DVD in the states and anyone who hasn't seen it should get hold of it immediately. Am I the only viewer who likes Shane (despite the "difficulties" he finds himself in !) ?

This is a forum the thread is titled season 6 if you aint seen 5 sorry but to read it is spoling it for yourself and if you watch the Trailer for season 6 the FIRST thing it mentions is RIP Lem. So perhaps call teh makers and tell them the trailer is a spoiler .

so no its not called season 6 spoilers unless there are any .

I like Shane as well. His maverick approach to everything is great. But without Lem, Vic has lost his ying to Shane's yang.

Been watching this since I bought season 1 very cheaply years ago. Everyone I recommended this show to loves it.

I must admit, i download it as soon as it is aired in the states, but then as soon as the dvds come out. I buy those little critters too.

I wil also buy them when they get released as HD DVD. I wanna see the scorched face from season 2 in high def glory

It normally pops up sometime in June/July. Five DO have the rights to series 6 in case anybody was worried.

The first 3 episodes of Season 6 have now been aired and thankfully the show is still as fresh as ever with some major events already taken place. TV doesnt get any better than this.

Agreed. The Shield is a top show. Hopefully they might leak all the episodes before they air in the US like they did with The Wire. Fingers crossed.

Shame that FX are airing it in 4:3.

I will therefore hold off downloading it and wait for 5 to show it in 16:9.

Getting to see something first is not my priority when choosing to download but rather if a UK channel is showing something in 4:3 when a 16:9 print is available. FXUK, Living, Bravo, Sci-fi. Hang your heads in shame.

Ive always wondered why this show is in 4:3. Its the only major show that i can think of that is. According to the IMDB its shot in 1.33 : 1 which is 4:3? Meaning the widscreen version will be a cropped version of what we already have?

Anyways it looks like Mackey is on a nonstop rampage untill he finds Lem's killer!!!!

4:3 is still very popular in the US. The shield has never been shown in 16:9 or in HD. A big shame really. I honestly dont think this show losses anything by not being in HD or widescreen, its still cracking.

Really? I never knew that.

Time to fire up that broadband. If the creator feels it should be 4:3, who am I to argue.

Just to clear things up...

The show is hot in 16:9 but cropped to 4:3 for US TV and DVD at the request of Shawn Ryan.

One episode has aired in 16:9 widescreen though...the feature length one towards the end of season 4. Its also in 16:9 on the R1 DVD but thats the only exception and i don't know why they chose to do it.

Nice one mate. Glad to hear you've done OZ. The shield is another top show. I killed seasons 1-5 in about 3 weeks.

I did exact same lol i love the sheild . I didnt go mad over Rome though Starting The Wire 2 this week 1 was very good.

still missing OZ though i think if i mention it enough times they will make another series for me lol
