I seem to have a problem when watching 700MB files - the 540p/AC3 ones. 350MB files are fine, but on the 700MB ones I find the sound extremely quiet. I have to turn the volume on the TV up to 95 or 100 (max it will go) to be able to hear it. It's the same if I route it through the amp, have to turn it up to max. Because it's turned up so much there's a lot of background 'noise' (and if I get e-mail while I'm watching it scares the **** out of me ).

I believe I have the AC3 filter (if I didn't, I wouldn't hear anything, right?), or is there a different version I need? Am I missing something obvious?

If anyone out there can help I'd be very grateful, as it seems to be more common all of a sudden for the 700MB versions to be released first, and the 350MB ones a couple of days later, or not at all!

Your not by any chance referring to the latest episode of SG:A are you? In WMP 700mn HD AC£ files play weird for some reason. Use VLC Media Player.

What software are you using to play them? They have a 5.1 soundtrack so the software may be 'downmixing' this and affecting the volume. If there is an option to try setting the audio to stereo.
