An excellent start to the new season.

Re: Rome: Season 2

Starts on the 14th proper but at least the first episode is out there now. Looks like it'll be more of the same. Shame to have lost Ciarán Hinds, pesky history.

Yup got leaked early morning today (7/1/07). Tis a DVDSCR - because of that, there is a watermark on it.

Not really interested enough in this program to go and leech it, I'll wait for the BBC to show it.

Second thoughts, this site says "The series has now ended." :S Looks like it won't be returning to the BBC after all. Unlucky, it was kinda good.

Yes, it will, its a BBC/HBO co-production - they just haven't updated it yet ... same happens with other BBC series like Spooks etc

I knew it was a BBC/HBO production. Just thought the BBC were being lazy.

the BBC got rid of a lot of web maintenance staff, as well as web sites in recent years (especially sections of BBC News), because it was a waste of licence payers money ... so a site is usually only updated once a new series of a show is imminent (exceptions being cash cows like Doctor Who) ... at the time Rome series 1 finished on the BBC, I don't even think a second series had been commissioned, and the site was left as it was with no indication of a second series because it wasn't expected

Re: Rome: Season 2

Ive seen some clips of the 2nd season and it looks like it takes off right where the first ended.

Looking good, but a bit of a change for some of the characters. Especially Vorenus who looks to be a totaly different person to what we got used to in the first season. (same actor by the way.)

All in all im sure it will be a good 2nd season.

Any idea when this is coming to the BBC? I'm guess September/October time?

From www.hbo.com/rome/about they still mention that it is "joint production between HBO and the BBC" and then go on to plug season 2. The BBC therefore shouldn't need an option, just like last season, as they co-own it.
