Deal or no deal - Sun 7th Jan 2007 - Spoiler
Amazing, girl just won the big one. £250,000
She had to decide between 3K and 250K - bank offer was a paltry 49K
BTW, the American version is much more fun to watch.

About time too if you ask me...
Good on her.
NB: Actually she was offered £45k - which she quite rightly turned down.

All because of her Dad's birthday being on the 6th - if it hadn't who knows, she may have swapped and walked away with £3,000!

The banker earlier offered her £19999 if he had offered her £1 more she would have got the sum of money that she was after, and may have dealt.

Was it in her box or was she offered (and take) a swap?

She was offered a swap, but she refused it, and the money was in her own box.

And Sarah, another contestant, for the second time now she's stated that the £250000 was in the box on the table. And she's been right both times.
Good on Laura though....she had the courage to go through with it.

If Sarah is wrong though, she is going to cost someone a lot of money, like when that boyfriend of somebody sat down at the table, drank their tea, took over the show, told them not to carry on, and they would have won the £250000. They were engaged, I'll bet they aren't now.

Hi,
Dammit! I missed this episode. I don't suppose anyone would be willing to send me a cooy on VHS or DVD to borrow, would they, please? Willing to cover postage and packing.
Thanks.

It'll be on NTL On Demand somewhere if you have NTL. It's free.

Re: Deal or no deal - Sun 7th Jan 2007 - Spoiler
It's repeated tomorrow (Tuesday 9th) on More4 at 11am apparently, they said so after the show on sunday.
Just seen on the BBC website an interview with the winner and she said it was originally recorded on the 14th November. Suprised the cat hadn't been let out of the bag sooner, though no doubt it had if you knew her or anyone in the audience!

The thing I don't understand is... if it's not live, how does the phone in to win the box money work? They put a name up at the end.. so it must be the name of somebody who phoned in several months ago. But then, they would not get the sum of money that they were phoning in to get? Cos at Christmas it was £50000... and somebody would have won £50000 by phoning in to win £2000? And another person would win £2000 after phoning in to win £50000, and they would be totally cheated out of their £1 phone call. It doesn't make sense.

Re: Deal or no deal - Sun 7th Jan 2007 - Spoiler
The phone in is live - when they put the name of the person up at the end, note that Noel always just says somehting like 'Congratulations to our winner' and then the name is shown as a graphic so it doesn't matter if the programme is recorded, the graphic is added 'live'.

They superimpose the winner over the pre recorded episode. You ring up on the day its being broadcast, your chosen at random and what ever box was opened on that show they are screening the person chosen gets that amount.

The boyfriend came across as being a bit of a control freak. And if she'd won the money he'd have spent it for her......
She's best off without him!
