Re: The Sun Goes Down On The O.C - Show Cancelled
Yeah, this had been on the cards for ages. Ratings in the US for a Fox programme had been disasterous. I think it is getting something like 4M viewers which for a major network is complete crap.
Haven't really watched it but from what I have noticed on the net it went downhill fast after they killed off one of the main cast.

Re: The Sun Goes Down On The O.C - Show Cancelled
This last season wasnt bad (according to the wife ) but since one of their stars (micha barton) left the show at the end of last season the ratings must have plumeted.
Other OC related news like 2 of the other cast members spliting up in real life (rachel bilson and adam brody) doesnt help either.
Personaly I thought the first season was pretty good, but it turned into a teen soap drama after that.

Re: The Sun Goes Down On The O.C - Show Cancelled
HI,
It doesn't surprise me that this is being cancelled, but I'm surprised that "One Tree Hill" is still going, even though Season 3/4 (the one involving the battle over who's going to be the local representative/politician) was one of the most pathetic and overly-extended plot lines ever committed to film!
I gave up part way through that season, even though most of the rest of the show is okay. But if a show like "The OC" can get canned, then it shows just how little a chance any cult-TV or sci-fi shows in the USA have, doesn't it?!

I wouldn't really associate that cancellation with the chances of Sci-fi programmes getting cancelled. The OC was cancelled because of crap ratings. Thats all.

The other half is going to be gutted about this - i didnt think it was a bad show, though the character ryan is very poor actor.
