Kill Bill Vol 1 gets 2 stars in TV Choice!!!

Kill Bill Vol 1 is on BBC2 on Sunday. I can't believe that TV Choice has only given it 2 stars! I would give it 5 Stars easily!

I was hugely disappointed with it when it was released but I have just taken possession of 1&2 Japanese versions to watch again and will watch it afresh.

Kill Bill 1 and 2 is one of my favourite and most watched Tarantino films. I always use it when setting up the display.

in that case i'd have thought the bright yellow tracksuit would have given it a 5 star rating instantly???

Vol 1 i think is a fantastic film, for many reasons, Vol 2 i was a little let down by, but possibly only because Vol 1 was so good.........bit like in the Alien films, first 2 are beyond doubt some of the best film material ever, the third one is actually a very good film, it just cant compete with its predecessors...(the 4th however was somewhat more mediocre but still watchable, AVP was, well, watchable in a more TV movie kind of way, or in my case more just a test of sound on my system..heh)

I've complained to the magazine. They suck.

Don't worry about the TV version ... did you buy the Japanese version? Definitely worth getting at this price (cost me almost double from YesAsia a few weeks prior to Kev posting )

Re: Kill Bill Vol 1 gets 2 stars in TV Choice!!!

I would have got the Japanese version in a second but the one thing that stops me is there is no translation only subs. The subs have to be on for the whole film or remember to press the sub button each time.

Exclamation Re: Kill Bill Vol 1 gets 2 stars in TV Choice!!!

Hi,

I don't mean to sound rude, folks, but when referring to Japanese people, or DVD releases, or anything other related to Japan, please DON'T use the term "Jap", as it's considered deeply offensive, and is a derrogatory remark stemming from WW2! Either use the terms "Asian", "Oriental" or "Japanese" please! Thanks people!

Re: Kill Bill Vol 1 gets 2 stars in TV Choice!!!

I expect a nice ultra high H.264 encode will look stunning but come on the HD version with full colour and DD5.1 or DTS which was offered for our viewing pleasure via other means will not be beaten until a genuine HD-DVD or Blu-ray release

I do want the 88fight in colour, however I have heard that there will be a UK version eventually. Is this true?

I dealt it very much as a SE version has been promised since the current version came out and nothing yet. When V1 can be bought for £4.99 it is no brainer for me. I don't know about the Japanese version but the R2 has a very fine DTS track as well. I also like the fight in black and white.

OP edited accordingly ... apologies for any offence
- completely unintentional, down to my ignorance, originally thought it a standard abbreviation until your post and having reading further info at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jap
