A re run of the short lived controversial American football drama starts tonight at midnight on Fx (tomorrow really).

Not seen it myself but heard good things aout it and will be +

it was really really good, me and the girlfriend really enjoyed out tuesday nights watching tha.
Shame it never got a 2nd season.

the NFL didnt like it because of the way it portrayed the players so presure was put on the network.

shame really becuase real american footballers do regarly take drugs and get suspended so its not that the series was making stuff up

Wasn't it the same network that made Playmakers that also showed the games themselves, so the NFL could obviously exert pressure on them from that angle?

A bit too close to the truth for comfort.

I heard it was a similar reason that Over There was cancelled, it didn't go down too well that US soldiers weren't portrayed in whiter than white, we're the good guys sort of way.

same network that has the rights for Monday Night Football, used to have Sunday Night Football,
ESPN is owned by Disney, so no surprise there.

Liked the series, thinking of buying the DVD.
