24 (Season 5) - Contains Extensive Spoilers!
Ok, so I'm a bit behind the times with this, but I have just watched 24 Season 5 - what can I say? What a crushing disappointment
Decent enough story - albeit total fantasy as always with 24. But the ending? A President being 'arrested' by his Secret Service? On the basis of an unverified illegal 'bug'? Within minutes JB being released and the new President 'about to be sworn in'?
Surely 24 is so good because it is (almost) believeable. 24 has clearly come to the end of it's natural life - cancel it now to prevent it turning into a farce

Re: 24 (Season 5) - Contains Extensive Spoilers!
I still think 24 is amazing, but it isn't very believable now. The first season was brilliant because it wasn't over the top, and it all just worked, but to keep Jack Bauer saving the day, they've had to give him super-hero status really, so everything else has to get a bit over the top.
I didn't really like the last half of season 5 though, the whole president bit just bored me once the revelation that it was him was over. And the bluetooth gang... who were they? I kind of hope we get to see them again, to tie up their story, but I didn't find them interesting, so I also hope we don't see them again.
I think they wanted a week's worth of seasons, so only 2 more to go (although I guess it all depends on how much money they make, so if it's still getting ratings, it probably won't finish then).... but if there are only two more seasons left, season 6 will build up to season 7, where they'll have saved their best ideas to go out with a bang, hopefully.
But then there's the movie too......

Quite - I mean TBH in Season 6 if Jack escapes from the Chinese by teleport I don't think I'd actually be that surprised.

Long old movie - or maybe they will rename the series '2'?

I think Doctor Who will pick him up in his Tardis.

The plan I heard was to have the first hour to skip through 23 hours, then the final hour be in real time. This is mainly just to let them travel around the world and skip through 8 hours of flying, which clearly can't be done in the TV show!

President Logan made season 5, great character acting.

Yes, it was great acting on his part. It was just a riddiculous story conclusion that ruined it.

Re: 24 (Season 5) - Contains Extensive Spoilers!
hmm season five was actually a return to form IMO. 4 was pretty weak, very predictable and bit boring, the only part they really messed up in 5 was killing Tony, I mean what was the point in even having him in the season. He did **** all, they should have just left his character out of it or killed him along with his wife.

The makers (Surnow, Gordon et al) regret how they handled that; he didn't even get the silent clock; even Edgar got that.

Re: 24 (Season 5) - Contains Extensive Spoilers!
Silent clocks! there should have been a god damn ceremony; Tony is a GOD , , he's been my role model since the first series when he had that goatie. He proved his greatness in a later series when he got shot in the neck, had major surgery and then went back on duty a few hours later with nothing but a band aid on his neck .

Carlos Bernard got so peed off with the celebrated Almeida under-lip bumfluff triangle, saying something like 'I had to keep that friggin' on my face for almost a year'.
He was mightily relieved about day two - Tony deciding to shave it off because it felt somewhat dirty as Nina Myers loved the feel of it.

Re: 24 (Season 5) - Contains Extensive Spoilers!
Does anyone know when this actually airs on Sky One? I know it airs in America on 14th Jan - but what about over here? I am too cheap to buy a TV guide (and I like to save the environment ) and I've looked all over Sky's 24 mini-site.
I didn't like them killing off Tony in S5 - he was my favourite

Season 6 starts on Sky 1 on the 21/1/07 with the first two hours back to back - then the next two hours the following sunday and a further two hours the sunday after that, then it reverts to one hour per week
