NYPD Blue

Was that really Jimmy Smits in NYPD Blue on Tuesday night or was it a look alike? The cast list did not include his name.

If it was a look alike, he fooled me!

Thumbs up Re: NYPD Blue

Hi Senrap,

Yes, it was Jimmy Smits indeed! He chose to have his name left off of the cast list, so that his brief appearance would be a nice surprise for fans of the long-running show.

(Bear in mind...
MINOR POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT - HIGHLIGHT TO READ ME... his character died in the middle of Season 6, it's a long time for his character to appear again!
END OF SPOILER!)

Don't worry. You didn't write anything wrong. True NYPD Blue fans will already know of the spoiler I mentioned in my post above, anyhow, and will probably have seen the episode you mentioned on Tuesday anyway. So I wouldn't worry too much about what you wrote. It wasn't really a major plot spoiler.

Re: NYPD Blue

Unfortunately I'm a latecomer to NYPD Blue - have only been watching since season 10! But I love it!!

I knew enough of the backstory to understand who he was - but the missus was confused !! "What's President Santos (West Wing) doing in it?"

Re: NYPD Blue

Thanks Pooch.

Donnacha, I have been watching since day one. Yes it is still very good although I think I preferred the first 6 series or so.

I am actually enjoying the new captain. I think he has added something to the show

- I don't think she's that into Star Wars, and not sure if she'd get that one!! Or how about he was the stepfather of Darth Vader's daughter!

Yes, only Seasons 1 through 4 are available. However, you shoudl be aware that thje Region 1 boxed set of Season 4, is on 4 discs rather than the usual six. As such, I suspect that two of the discs will be double-sided flipper discs. If not, then the picture quality is going to be awful, as they're cramming nearly 3hrs 10 minutes of material onto each of the four single sided, dual-layered discs.

HI,

Seasons 1-4 are available on Region 1. Seasons 1-3 are available on Region 2 (UK) disc, with Season 4 due out very, very soon. However, I should mention that:

1) The Region 1 editions of Season 4 are almost certainly on flipper discs.

2) The Region 2 editions of Seasons 1 and 2, are in different packaging to Season 3 (and Season 4). One and Two came in 3 double-disc Amaray cases, within a cardboard box. Seasons 3 and 4 revert to 20th Century Fox's standard "Angel/Buffy/MASH"-style multi-disc Amaray cases instead.

For me, as much as I love the show, I'm going to wait until Fox confirms that all 12 seasons are being released, and that there will probably be a complete series boxed set, or at least a complete re-release of all 12 seasons, in the same Amaray-multi-disc style packaging. (I hate it when companies change packaging designs part-way through a series! )
