The BOOGEYMAN....IS COMING TO GETCHA!!!!!
hehe

WWE now....WWF is the people hugging pandas
(WWE lost the court battle...good laugh that....lets take on an age old charitable institution and tell them us blokes in leotards want to sue you for using our initials.......judge pretty much laughed them out of court and as such, during the quite a few years appeal system, any material released by the WWE with WWF banners on it has to be blurred out....LOL)

anyhow, i got back in to WWE last year when i got Sky, hadnt watched it since the early 90's.....i stopped bothering picking up copies of Wrestlemania etc because they were just slapping each other most of the time.....however it seems in the meantime they've taken notes from Bret the Hitman Harts book and started to be a bit more athletic for the most part....its actually good entertainment, obvioulsy not a sport, more panto in lycra....but good fun, altho the Smackdown show is possibly a little more adult orientated, altho i believe they still let youngsters in to the show.....

as for worms...well, seen plenty of grim stuff on telly that kids can watch along those lines so dont see the problem......

oh and Undertaker and Kane are back together, happy families...hehe

Re: wrestling

Wow, a wrestling thread!

Please don't label WWE as 'wrestling'. That's like saying the Premiership is the only place to watch football.

Kurt Angle, Christian and Rhino have made the jump to their only rival, TNA wrestling, I'd recommend that instead of the cartoon type garbage that WWE/F put on to a dwindling fan base

You can find it on Player 2, Eurosport and The Wrestling Channel

Regards

The Dude

Re: wrestling

If WWE is sports entertainment (and I'd question how entertaining its been last couple of years), RoH is pretty much pure wrestling and my wrestling promotion of choice. TNA sits roughly in the middle of the two.

This Sunday's PPV would be an ideal starting point for TNA as its going to feature Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe, two of the best wrestlers in the US at the moment facing off for the first time.

Re: wrestling

Wow, not only a wrestling thread but an intelligent one!

I'm only into ROH as well, but TNA has greater exposure via Eurosport and Bravo 2 so I thought that I'd educate the masses slowly.

Plus, TNA has Alex Shelley and Austin Aeries (can't get used to calling him Starr) who I liked in ROH so I followed them to TNA.

Joe vs Angle should be great, Joe has to go over

Regards

The Dude

p.s. If you get this months Fighting Spirit magazine there's a free DVD with Joe vs Punk on it

Re: wrestling

Shelley + Aries + Nash = Comedy gold.

Between the Paparazzi and LAX tag team wrestling has never looked so good.

I can't see there being a clean finish this Sunday, but if anybody was going to break Joe's winning streak it has to be Angle.

I used to put worms in my mouth as a kid and I didn't need wrestlers to give me the idea. Plus it never did me any harm...

Re: wrestling

I was hooked on the story lines they used to produce. I have seen the wwf/e various times.

When I was once about 12 I went and watched a live wwf show. Various big names at the show. Bret the hitman ect.

Do think tnt and RoH are far better to watch.

Re: wrestling

I like the WWE because of the high production values, granted a number of the matches in each show tend to be less about wrestling and more about the soap opera style story lines, but some of the stuff you see is very well done, they got a lot more middleweight wrestlers in recently so you see more of the moves coming out.....

i've tried watching TNA, which is a lot more like the wrestling you used to get here in the UK many years ago, but even then, its still all rigged...lol, just lower production values......the only wrestling that isnt rigged is the stuff you see in stuff like the Olympics.......
the other fight club style shows you see, well, i'm guessing they are not fixed, but who knows...lol.....

but like i say, WWE is now Panto in lycra, if you take it as that its quite enjoyable, some storylines can be a bit boring or too much like ones gone before, but i just sky+ thru them...lol....altho i must say, watching HBK leg drop off a taller than usual ladder (i'd imagine about 12ft) on to Vince McMahon as he lay there stuffed inside a aluminium bin on a table was one hell of a move...lol....being slightly innebriated at the time i whooped and cheered like i never have before

Re: wrestling

Hey Pixelpixel

If you like decent wrestling with some good storylines, TNA is the place to go.

If you just want good wrestling, ROH rules.

If you want to see HHH destroy his father-in-law's company and Vince McMahon's ass being kissed, stick with WWE/F

Re: wrestling

Hey Knight_Byte

All wrestling is 'worked', if you want 'shoot style' check out Pride or UFC. And if you got excited about HBK doing Vinnic Mc off a ladder, you're enjoying it anyways so it makes no difference. We all know it's worked, but we enjoy it the same.

If you want a worked shoot-style match (ie the ending is worked out but they will actually hit each other to prove how tough they are) then watch Samoa Joe vs Kurt Angle at TNA:Genesis this weekend
