Classic Doctor Who

I see that BBC Four is showing part 1 of Spearhead From Space (first Jon Pertwee) tonight at 7:10.

Just checked the BBC Four SF season page.
The Ark In Space will feature at the end of the month.

Re: Classic Doctor Who

It's high time the early Dr Who's were shown in full again. AFAIK they haven't been shown since their original showings with maybe a couple of exceptions

It'd make a change from repeats of soaps which have only been on that day, and I can't see repeats hitting BBC's DVD sales.

Re: Classic Doctor Who

UK Gold has shown the Doctor Who series regularly. The BBC hasn't been so keen. It makes me wonder why they haven't bothered with programmes like Monty Python, Citizen Smith, Dear John, and The Goodies but they re-run Are You Being Served.

They usaly start from Jon Petwee and if they shown the first 2 Doctors it has been for specials. The BBC has shown a few I think one was involving an other Time Lord in The Meddling Monk staring Peter Butterworth.
The only other time I have seen all of the avalable full stories of the first 2 Doctors was on BSB before Sky merged with them.

Re: Classic Doctor Who

It looks like the schedule for the BBC Four science fiction season is still being added to.

The Day of the Triffids is 6 parts and showing on mondays. So:
13/11/2006
20/11/2006
27/11/2006
04/12/2006
11/12/2006
18/12/2006

Spearhead from Space is 13/11/2006 and 20/11/2006
Ark in Space (ep. 1 & 2) is 27/11/2006

Extrapolating from this (I believe Ark in Space is 4 parts), I deduce that we may get another 4-parter for 11/12/2006 and 18/12/2006.
