The X Factor - McDonald Brothers

Are the McDonald Brothers any good? Are you voting for them? Have you got better taste than to watch such drivel?

I love the show and i am getting angry that some good acts are going out while the Mc B are still in. They try their best but i think they fall well behind the other acts. It makes me laugh when i stop to think that people are voting for them as being a better act than Ben or Liona.

As far as i'm concerned, the only good Mcdonalds... serve me burgers.

It could be a tough decision on who will get my final vote, Ben is just ahead at the moment.

Alreet leej?

I agree about the MacDougalls. Shocking. Pub Karoake. I sound like Simon Cowell! They must be getting the sympathy vote as Simon keeps hammering them each week - think he's got to take the hint and stop it.

The final will come down to Ben and Leona - by far the best two vocalists in there and I have a sneaky feeling that we may have the first girl winner. Leona's performance last night was immaculate.

Re: The X Factor - McDonald Brothers

There does have to be 'something' seriously going on to keep them in the show. Let's face it, Nikitta - whilst she has the stage presence of a failing fish, is at very least, capable of throwing out a good tune (although I must admit I'd never heard of last nights song that she sung.) Ray - sure, a one trick pony, but a decent pony nonetheless, he can sing (ish), move, dance, schmooze...The MacDonut brothers? Um...they can smile at each other a lot...

I'm always open to conspiracy theories or the mass Scot vote, but either way, they just don't deserve to be there on 'talent' left. Even though I said it last week and the week before, if they don't go out next week there has been 'manipulation' on some count somewhere.

Agreed (about the final 2).

Thought that for some time now and practically every passiing week confirms it.

Well I actually thought the McDougall's were alright last night.

Leona is the clear favourite in my eyes though, that performance last night was incredible!

Regarding Leona, we dont need yet another Mariah Carey, she isn't as "good" as she once was and this girl is just copying her. Ben at least has some originality, same as Robert. Frankly I'd rather it came down to the two of them.

Re: The X Factor - McDonald Brothers

Put simply the Scottish public are ringing in their millions every week which is why they are still in.
The sad thing is that the winners are ITV and the production company who are making a fortune on the premium rate phone calls and as already mentioned it is not as though the Macdonald Brothers will win.
Michelle McManus was kept in by the Scottish public ... did they buy her records??!!

What grates me is the audience reaction, there were some mediocre performances this weekend, but each one greeted by pandemonium, which flatters to deceive.

Re: The X Factor - McDonald Brothers

If you mean Ray? Then yes.

Personally, I don't think it really matters in what order people get voted off. The final 3 (and the only 3 that are really any good) are Leona, Ben & Eton Road. So it doesn't really matter who goes when prior to that.

My girlfriend introduced me to the show last year and I have to admit I'm pretty hooked, but I can't help but feel that its a pretty cruel show as it takes people from nothing gives them a taste of their dream and sends them crashing back to nothing afterwards.

Even winning it doesn't mean much. Where's that guy Steve who won it? Shayne Ward? Hardly set the world on fire! All of these people are going to end up back where they started. I thought Simon Cowell summed it up well. "You started as wedding singers and you're going to be going back to singing at weddings. Just bigger ones now."

Having said that, the last two weeks I've watched Leona and thought she really looked & sounded a star and I can't remember thinking that before on that show.

Not keen on him then Decadence. I quite enjoyed Rays performance this week. He could do ok for himself. The wife doesn't like him though.

I agree about Robert, he has grown on me as the show has progressed. I really hope he does well, he seems to have a bit more versatility than Andy from last year's show too.

Re: The X Factor - McDonald Brothers

I ashamedly admit to watching this too….

Agree with most people, couldn’t believe the MacD’s didn’t go this weekend, I know Ray and Nikita are probably the other 2 weak acts left in the competition but c’mon they’re bother better than them, they are no more than pub singers and the only reason they’ve got this far is because Louis is a very bad judge!!!

For me it comes down to Leona, Ben and Robert. Roberts enthusiasm is quite infectious, and his performance this week was top class, Leona is consistently good (although I can’t help looking at her big nose!! ) and Ben has been excellent throughout and is a bit different to everyone else.

Leona- Best by far

Ben- Excellent singer (shame about the lame stuff with the audience girl Pure Cheese)

Eton Road -I shouldnt like them as i hate bot band but I do theer excellent although I hated the Beatles song , dancing was again Cheese.

Robert - Undervalues himself , really good singer trying to hard to please and be liked.

Never liked any of the rest , Glad the little Flash guy went and as for the McDougles . why ?

Oh and while im writing Get Rid of Louis Walsh .

Louis never critisizes the performance, he always says that the song was the problem and uses it to dig at Simon.
When he complains to Ray that he is a one trick pony, Ray has the perfect, perfect comeback. Simply mention that Westlife seem to have done pretty well singing exactly the same song time and time and time again.

I'm sorry, but Ben is a crap pub singer, simply getting girlie votes,(same girls that swoon over Sawyer in Lost), and if that absolute murdering of Aerosmith's I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing is anything to go by, I fear that mass deafness has swooped the nation. Louie Walsh loved it though, didn't he? But then, he likes boys with flowing locks, eh?

Re: The X Factor - McDonald Brothers

Eton Road should have went last night Robert gave the best performance between them but you cannot blame the judges when there are only two acts to pick from as it then comes down to there little jelous games between eachother. You must blame the Great British Public for putting the acts in that position to start with I thought Leona was superb again last nite as always she is the only one that deserves to win it as she is in a class of her own the rest are just there to make up the numbers Oh i'm begining to sound like Simon now

Simon's remarks have been spot on about the McDonalds EVERY week - they are below average and are, at best, pub singers. Leona puts them to shame as does Ben and Robert on sheer ability - can not believe that Robert has gone.

Do you think that Simon sees Robert as more of a threat and got rid of him on that basis? Eton Rd were nowhere near as good as Robert and maybe Simon saw the chance to get rid of a rival.

PS The bottom two HAVE TO BE RAY AND THE MACDOUGALLS next week

i agree the mcdonald brothers have consistantly failed to produce the goods despite the fact they'd be luck to get a pub gig.

i'm scottish myself but they don't get my vote, goodness knows who's voting to keep them in!
