A friend has just recommended this film, I remember it coming out last year at the Cinema but it seems to have escaped any real DVD advertising, I have ordered it from Futurenet but was just wondering if anyone had seen it and if so how they rated it ?

oh are you in for a treat! Ben Kingsley plays one of the most intimidating movie villians of all time. Ray Winstone is cracking, Jonathan Glazier's direction is first rate, even bloody Lovejoy is good in it. Very stylish crime flick about an ex con trying to stay retired.

You've just made me realise that I need to buy this in the very near future. Think the Reg 1 version has an extra commentary on it.

Top film. Winstone is superb as always. Kingsley was just brilliant. This film deserved a lot more recognition.

Might as well chime in too. I picked up a VHS copy of this for cheap, and it's just an excellent movie. Kingsley plays one of the most annoying characters in movie history. (but in a good way ) Ya just want to smack him.

Cracking film with a good ending. also great for a drinking game based on how many times Ben Kingsleys character says the "F" word.

It is a top film. I thought Ian McShane, too, was really intimidating and perhaps his best outing. Seem to recall seeing the Limey around same time, another decent flick once you get past the naff accent of mate.

Another Ray Winstone classic, and yes Kingsley somehow manages to steal the show.

yes those swine at HMV are offering it for a quite unbelievable £9.99, I bought it last night along with LA Confidential for a very silly £5.99.

if you've seen the film you'll know what I'm talking about, very funny, I didn't want to include any spoilers.

see the film then comment, personally I wouldn't let either of their characters through my front door. De Niro has never been as flat out mental pyscho as Kingsley was in Sexy Beast not even in Cape Fear.
Kingsley's Don Logan even makes Joe Pesci look loveable.

James45 is bang-on. Kingsley is downright scary in this film. Easily the best thing he's done since Gandhi.
