Best way to legally download Battlestar?

I missed several episodes of Battlestar Series 2. There are several legal video download sites such as iTunes, AOL video etc.
Is there a single search engine for all of them or do you have to go to each one to look for a show?

Thanks

I don't know if its any good or not but tv.com has the links for itunes. How much does it cost to download an episode? Maybe in the long run it would be better to buy the DVD.

Pretty sure they are only available to download for people in the US and if it costs more than £1 per episode you might as well just buy the DVD's.

Yep, US only Which is pretty stupid, IMHO. I would have been perfectly happy to pay $0.99 an episode to get them legally, but I can't so I just Bittorrent them instead and the studios get no money, where's the sense in that?

The sense is that the distributers have their tens of millions of dollars from UK broadcasters who quite rightly would not like to see their expensive purchases have their long term value reduced unless they get a slice of the action.
Perhaps someone like CH4 will secure UK internet rights and offer episodes of their imports on a PPV basis like they do for some HD on TW.

I think downloads are inevitable but just like the US (far bigger market) it will take time for the rights holders to be convinced that internet rights are not going to impact on the sale of broadcast rights.

Ch4 do actually do this already with Lost, not sure if they do it with anything else. Episodes are 99p and expire after 48hours(actually, on checking, it's 24 hours, which makes it even more pointless), I think, and are available one week after the episode airs on C4. So not exactly much point really

My point is though, whether UK broadcasters like it or not, these episodes are available very easy, surely it makes more sense for someone to make money from them along the line?

Yep no question that we can aquire virtually everything before it gets a UK broadcast but with all media concerns the question to them is will the money they have to spend to buy the UK internet rights be recouped and will it affect the revenues generated by subscription and advertising for normal broadcasts. SKY are happy it seems to allow some content to be watched via the SKY by broadband service so maybe in time we will see their shows (inhouse and imported) appear on that service.

Simply put for someone to make money someone has to lose money so unless it can be shown that internet downloads either offered at the same time or with a minor delay do not affect PAY broadcasters then that removes a huge chuck of content from a potential service.
Content that is sold to the BBC and other FTA broadcasters may be a different matter although again some content is sold for a rerun to PAY channels, offer that direct then those channels won't be willing to pay as much, tricky

Season 2 started last night on Sky One with the first 2 episodes, so you can just set up a season pass for them

Re: Best way to legally download Battlestar?

Watched a recording of last weeks Grey's Anatomy last night, interestingly enough at the end of the show, the continuity annoucer said that if you missed it, or wanted to watch it again, you could watch it for free (are you watching C4? ) on their website. Not sure if that means you have to watched it streamed on the site or you can download it, I'll have to check, but it seems like a step in the right direction.
