Xena: Warrior Princess.
Takes a while to get into as week on week you're not sure if it's drama, camp comedy or something else (though I think that actually one of the series' plus points, myself). Innovative stuff as it even included two full musical episodes where the cast all burst into song, and was way before Buffy did something similar. And any programme where the lead is a babe in a skimpy leather outfit can't possibly be bad. Even managed to get an episode banned for a while. Lots of punch-ups and action adventure and clever story telling. Too easily dismissed by the great British public as it was always treated by the stations that aired it as kid's programme and censored accordingly, but the DVDs (especially the R1 version) are largely intact so all the beheadings, limb removals, and odd deity molestations are still there. Worth a try out I'd suggest.
The only thing to look out for is the UK R2 DVD set of season one in not in the correct running order as the bozo who did the authoring didn't put a zero in front of the episodes so you get 1, 11, 12, 13 etc. And Universal have never seen fit to re-issue it in the correct order. Getting the R1 sets are actually preferable because not only are they in the right order, and completely uncensored, but they even have many more extras that the UK R2 sets simply don't have.
