Cool Ring Film.

Thought I would just post that the film Ring is on tomorrow night on Channel 4, I have no idea if it is any good, but I know a lot of people rave about it.
It could be subtitled.

Garrett,

1) The film is subtitled in English, with a Japanese soundtrack.
2) It's in widescreen - approximately 1.78:1
3) The sequel "Ring 2", will air on Channel 4, on Tuesday 14th around the same time - 11:35pm.
4) The films are fantastically creepy! Watch this with the lights off, and it'll freak-you out big-time!

Bad, BAD Film

I bought this on the strength of IMDB reviews and people on this forum saying it was the scariest film they had ever seen.

I was extremely disappointed and was left wondering if I'd actually bought the right film... even the Blair Witch Project is scarier... even Teletubbies is scarier!!!

It is easily the worst DVD in my collection! Just my opinion of course... anyone want to buy/swap it?

This film is creepy, stick with it and i gurantee you u hope u aint alone in the house. Not for the crowd who like Scream, Urban Legends etc etc as this film is one of those raritys, built on a good script, tension, atmosphere, no need for schlock.

I'm definately NOT a fan of the stalk and slash type hollywood teen horror movie rubbish... Which is why Ring, based on so many people's comments, appealed to me, it just failed to deliver by a long shot!

The one slightly creepy moment was the woman coming out of the tv but on the whole the film fell flat for me.

Usually I can understand why a film is so acclaimed even if i don't like it, and keep my opinions to myself, but this one I completely fail to understand what people see in it... What am I missing??

Sometimes too much hype/rave reviews spoils the movie, I saw ring in the cinema a few years ago based on its interesting storyline, als the Blair Witch Project, refused to read the hype watched on its first night and liked it!

Times when hype has let me down.

Oceans Eleven- Did anyone actually feel any tension during the robbery? Too slick, no substance.

Phantom Menace. 'Nuff said

The Matrix - What plot?

theres more but i guess thats a different subject.

If you really want to get rid of your copy of Ring i`d like to buy or trade. Only thing i`ve got to trade at the moment is Reanimator, the Tartan release so its not the uncut version.
I really enjoyed Ring and Ring 2, like the pace and style of the films.
Takes all sorts i suppose

I have a copy of "Ring" - but like "Lord of the Rings" I don't think it's the same film your talking about.

Scary film, got to say it is the sacriest film I have ever seen, the sequel Ring 2, follows on nicely, keeps you on the edge of your seat, the prequel that was released after the other two i just as scary but also explains a lot of the stuff in the firdt two films. I would recomend this trilogy to anyone.

I found an old video from years ago the other night... far scarier than ring... There was this group of teenagers traveling round in this van with a big dog... and they found this old house that was apparently haunted.... the tension was unbelievable, I was so far past the edge of my seat that i was almost up against the wall... and then at the end, in an incredible twist, they caught the "ghost", pulled off the sheet and it turned out to be the owner of the house who growled "Those pesky kids!" before being taken away by the police! Nailbiting stuff!

It's something of an urban myth that Ring is a 'scary' film.

It isn't scary. It is however a little disturbing in concept, if not execution.

I just started a thread about this film and then noticed this one already existed, seen the second one the other night, it was well freaky when the bloke couldnt erase a certain part of the video, and in the well at the end was making me hide behind the sofa.

Cool

I have only watched Ring 1 as yet, I too did not find it scary, but I thought the story was a lot better than the a majority of horror films.

I saw some of Ring 2 the other night... I thought it was better than the first one... but only because it was much funnier.
