ITV HD and BBC HD

I've had my TvDrive in since Tuesday now. Watched a couple of footie matches on both ITV and BBC, which seem pretty good, although I'm hard pressed to see the difference between SD and HD in the games, maybe a little bit crisper perhaps.

Anyway, BBC HD just continues to preview loads of HD versions of existing programs, I assume they are going to show these at some point in the future. My housemate is eager to watch Bleak House in HD.

ITV either have their city demo on or some old movie, which obviously isn't HD as far as I can tell.

Is there anything in the pipeline that people have heard about, or is Wimbledon on BBC the only thing to look forward to?

Would be nice if ITV could get HD coverage of Formula One!!!

Have a look under Teleport Life - High Definition. There is the Blue Planet series which is fantastic. There is also the first series of Desperate Housewives & Lost in HD, but it costs 99p per episode . There is some other HD stuff in Teleport Life also, but perhaps not as good.

I've been watching the World Cup on my projector on a big screen. When you change over to the SD there is actually quite a big difference.

The PQ of the upscaled non-HD feed on BBC is actually rather good but you can spot the jaggies on the white lines immediately. Also, when there is a lot of movement e.g the crowd waving flags, you can see the noise clearly compared to HD

Yeah I agree you can definitely tell the difference between HD and SD on BBC, but on ITV it doeesn't seem that much different. Perhaps I need to watch it a bit more.

I watched the Portugal Spain game (I think) the other night, when it was raining in Germany, and you could see a big difference in the picture between HD and SD then.

Even Mrs Owl noticed!!!

So look for the rain on the live games

Bleak House was on a few weeks ago. All 15? episodes over 2 nights. Loved it.
