Man of Bronze AKA Jim thorpe - All American

My parents have asked me to try and track down a copy of this old Burt Lancaster film, but my investigations have so far stalled as it doesn't appear to have been released on DVD anywhere in the world.

If your not familiar with this true-life story of an American Indian athlete, it's probably because it has not aired on TV in over twenty years (I obviously can't confirm this, but Mum is adamant they haven't noticed it in any TV listings for this period).

This is the film:

http://www.us.imdb.com/title/tt0043687/

You will notice that there is an entry for 'DVD Details', but it is empty, which is unusual for IMDB, so perhaps it is due for release soon and my question is moot.

Has anyone ever seen this film on TV in recent memory and if you ever see it in a listing, please post to this thread. Pooch, any idea if BBC, ITV, C4 or C5 have the rights?

Thanks for any help.

Mark

Can't answer your question, but I thought that Doc Savage was 'The Man of Bronze'

I thought of that soon as I saw the thread, and though he wanted help on Doc Savage I wonder if they took the name fron him as Doc Savage was wrote about 1933.

Oh and Castle I looked on IMDB and your film is flaged as a US DVD but could not fand a copy anywhere.
