Just seen: Shaft (2000)
Was sick over the weekend ("air-con flu") and mostly spend my time watching CATV when Shaft popped up.
Actually wanted to make a risk buy last time and get it on DVD - but lucky I didn't. Absolute rubbish this movie.
Lousy story and a bunch of idots jumping over the screen who can't even speak proper English. :o
Not to waste more time and words on this, rating:
* 1/2 out of 5
1/2 because Samuel L Jackson is starring but another 0.5 got deducted because it has Vanessa L Williams in it ...

I agree Reiner. Few original plot points but the guy who played the Dominican drug lord was quite funny.

There was no main adversary for Shaft, just a poncey spoilt brat who was as threatening as a sneeze, and a comical drug baron. Too much that didn't make sense came together and created farcical chaos.

Any film that can provoke strong reactions,good or bad,definitely has something going for it. I have had the DVD since December 2000 and i thought it was a very good film.Samuel L. Jackson and Jeffrey Wright played their roles perfectly.
